The main idea of this suggestion is to propose a way to put magnet in minecraft. It’s divided in 3 parts: a way to magnetize blocks, the magnet itself and fluids.
1: Magnetize Blocks:
To make the block react with the magnet, you attach an iron ingot on it. If the block is sand or gravel, you need to attach on only one side. For all the other blocks you attach on the both sides. Example:
With Sand or Gravel: [>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
or [>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
With Any Other block: [>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
It Won’t Work if you do this:
[>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
or
[] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
[] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
whatever it’s sand or cobblestone or any other block because it isn’t lined up with the magnet at the Left. However it will work if there’s another magnet lined up.
2: The Magnet:
There are many suggestions about making a recipe of magnet: I’d prefer this:
[]
[] [] []
It can be placed in any block, but it will only act in the direction that point and it can be turned on or off. If it is on it will magnetize the block that is attached with iron lined up (I’ll Explain on the second part) at the distance of or 8 blocks or more if there’s a second block attached with iron at the distance of 16 blocks. To understand this, see the picture below:
[>>-i>] =Magnet
It Works on both blocks:
[>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
If there’s a Block between the Magnet and the Magnetized Block it won’t work, except in 2 Situations:
1. This Block is Also Magnetized.
2. This Block is Sand or Gravel.
If it’s off, it will move away the magnetized block at the distance of 8 blocks.
some examples:
Magnet on:
1. [>>-i>]
2. [>>-i>]
3. [>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] []
4. [>>-i>]
5. [>>-i>] [] [] [] [>>-i>]
Magnet off:

2. [>>-i>] [] [] [] []
3. [>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] []
4. [>>-i>] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
5. [>>-i>] [] [] [] [>>-i>]
3: Fluids:
With fluids (water and lava), it will not increase the range when the source is putted on the magnet, except in the case where the magnet is on the ground. In this case, the magnet can lift up the water for 5 blocks and lava for 3 blocks. However it can change the direction of the fluid to the direction where the magnet is putted.
When the magnet is turned on, the source putted on the magnet won’t move, lava fluids with a distance of 3 blocks will be magnetized and water fluids in a distance of 8 blocks will be magnetized as well.
