Ropes would be pretty useful in both singleplayer and online. It would basically be a portable ladder. Ok, lets say you come across this situation: You are walking on a mountain and on the side, you spot some useful material you need on a little edge. It would be hard and wasteful if you used blocks to get down to it. But luckily you have your rope! It works by places it on a block that is the edge of something. Whatever side you are facing, that's the side it extends downward, such as looking off the cliff. It works like a ladder, just climb down and (in some situations) go back up. It only goes down about 8 blocks or so. Once you are done, just break it on any part of the rope. The rope can be crafted by using this new material, hay.
Hay is a farmed material such as sugar cane and wheat. Hay grows in open fields on dry grass blocks (if created in the future? Maybe that's another suggestion?). You basically hoe it like you would to get seeds except this always gives you one small amount. Hay can be used to make ropes, future ideas, or put together in bigger stacks, like a block. It can be grown like other farming plants. Hay could also be used to feed future mobs.
For the hay idea, i think it has bean suggested but in the archives. So basicly not.
Hay i think should be crafted like this.

pretty simple, it's flamable, and increases the spawn rates of freindly mobs in a certain radius of it. That's what i suggest anyway. Im tired of makeing roofs out of wool. Realy hope this gets added XD
The rope idea has been suggest dozens of time OMG JUST STINKING SEARCH FOR THE MILLIONTHS TIME!! The hay I like if you craft it with 4 wheat like stated above.

I'm sorry but the reason I joined the forums was for easy access to information and to give my opinion on ideas and subjects. I want my idea to be expressed by me, not other people. Also, it doesn't hurt you if this is posted more than once, doesn't it?

I really like your idea for hay.
Thank you, I don't have anything to say about the ropes realy. It can definatly be good if pulled off rite. but if not it would suck, just one of those things that's eather bad or good.
