I'm sure some of you have thought of these but I decided to start a thread and make a few suggestions to improve the pet experience with the new Wolves.
So feel free to respond with more suggestions but I'll start out with a few that I've come up with.
- Dog Houses
Have some sort of place that you can craft that is the size of a bed or maybe two that you can right click if you have a wolf pet present to make the wolf enter it and be stored until you return to right click it again. Maybe even force the player to right click the pen with meat in order to feed the wolf every so often? I was thinking that somewhere on the Dog house could be a sort of meter of happiness or HP that the wolf is at in order to alert you if you've left the wolf in there and forgotten about it. Anyways, just my first suggestion.
- Play Fetch with a wolf
I also was thinking that once a wolf was tamed that maybe there could be a craft-able toy for the wolf that could be used to throw for fetch. My idea was that since the wolf can respond to an item in hand (like the pork from pigs) then maybe if you had this toy in your hand the wolf would back up a bit and maybe get excited for some fetch. You would then throw the item in it's general direction and the wolf would jump to catch it or whatever is necessary. Then the dog would bring it back to you and it would take the next empty slot in your inventory (whatever slot you had it bound to before).
Those are the only ones I've come up with so far and they are pretty straightforward. Maybe some of you could suggest other things?
EDIT: Just a brief list of suggestions.
- Craft-able colored collars
- Naming the wolf
- Leashes
- Progressive Growth and maybe even death of the wolf from age (would add to the experience)
- Hunting mechanics (You kill he brings the meat/items)
- Attaching the leash to a block to allow the wolf to be a watchdog of some sort
Is it fun posting the same **** as everyone else over and over again?
