This will be a thread with a compilation of Original (More Or Less) Block Ideas, I'm finally making a thread for this, since I'm tired of posting block ideas again and again
(Even though I won't get much replies like all my Other Threads, lol)
So....Let's Get Started
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: It is a block that would spawn when a Fire is Started, A Furnace Is Burning or A Powered MineCart Is Running
Image: *Need Artist*
Block Type: (Technical Term) Upside Down Liquid
(If Ever Added It would create a new block type called gas)
Attributes:
- Acts Like An Upside Down Liquid
- Will "Choke" you like Water
- Will Spawn OverTop Of Fires
- Will Spawn OverTop Of Furnaces When Working
- Will Spawn OverTop Of Powered MineCarts When Working
Why:
- For Logical Reasons (Wood Burning=No Smoke?)
- The Possibilities of Scenes You Could Make (Aesthetics)
Decent template and form, but I'ma comment on the Smoke now if you don't mind.
While this is fine for Fireplaces and Forges as they are usually out in the open air, you now have to ventilate mineshafts if you use powered minecarts.
Well I was thinking more along the lines of, when Powered Minecart Begins, it becomes a smoke source block (somehow),
When it moves it leaves a little "flow" of smoke above it
That "flow" quickly dissapears leaving no smoke
(it's like taking the source block off of a cliff, but just doing this upside down)
+ the way Liquids work, you would just need to build the mine 1 block higher so the smoke stays there (I think)
The Other Solution I've found is take away smoke from Powered Minecarts
(Ultimatly taking away powered minecarts for Furnaces)
If anyone has a better solution, please tell me so, since I'm drawing blanks and I am Tired

These guys make awesome art for Mods (Items, New Blocks and Mobs)
I will be using them soon
I'm Starting to be known as a Balancer, A.K.A. I'm starting to become pessimist
Interesting.... Maybe the smoke blocks would target the nearest hole leading up (they have infinite range so they won't just stay there...unless you trap it of course.) cause that's what smoke does.
Egg block?! I wtf'd at that.
If there's an egg block then I suggest a feather block :tongue.gif:
Nah jk.

http://myschoo.php5.sk/mca/ = AWESOME. The pen is mightier than the sword, or in this case, the text is mightier than the troll.
Why make it a block when it can do fine as a static particle?

Welcome to the forums, by the way. I'll be your brutally honest dream-crushing critic for...Well, your entire stay. So make your ideas good ones. [Diamond]

Please explain static particle so we are on the same page, Cause if we go into more detail I'll be basing all my talk on assumptions
Something that can't be put into the inventory and can't be interacted with directly, like falling sand or crumbles from broken blocks. It can affect the player but you can't hack it into your inventory and it doesn't take up a block space (noclip or not).

I guess that could work, but would it be able to react to the environment as described (more or less) so acting sorta like an upside down liquid
Off Topic ; thanks to yoshi and ydgrasel or how ever you spell his name, I hesistate to type the words upside down liquid

How would you plan on fixing that?
