Alright. Lately, the forum has been spammed with april fools jokes, wolf suggestions and generally plain spam. I understand that this is the wrong section, by the way. Anyway, this needs to be stopped. Here's my guide, and keep in mind, some of it is personal preference.
1. Read the "Rules Before Posting" Sticky.
Nobody wants to have to read through a boring list of rules. However, if you take even the smallest amount of your time to read it, it might save your idea from getting demolished.
2. Search.
Use google. Its easy. If even ONE idea pops up, read through it to see if it is the same as yours. If it is, don't post it. If it has major differences, but uses the same concept, post it.
3. Make a name for yourself.
Post on other ideas regularly, get to know some of the main critics and what they don't like in a suggestion. This does not mean post *****, just post occasionally so people see you. If you come out of nowhere, people will be more inclined to think of your idea as trolling. NEVER post an idea when you are only out of the water. At least get to tree puncher.
4. Take pride in your online appearance.
More of a personal preference, I think more of an organized person. Get an avatar up, give yourself an original signature and I will be more inclined to hear out your ideas. Once again, this is a personal preference, and you don't have to do this.
5. Punctuation, spelling.
Too many threads are illegible due to terrible spelling and punctuation. Spellcheck is automatically enabled (For me anyway), so there is no excuse. This is probably the most important rule.
6. Use common sense.
It is a well known fact that many people do not take kindly to gun, magic or space suggestions. If you REALLY want to traverse these subjects, be cautious and make your idea a good one. I am usually opposed to technology threads, but a well explained space travel suggestion tempted me to support, so it CAN be done.
7. One at a time.
The rule of one idea per thread means that. But it also means that you don't post 5 threads at one time.
8. Absorb criticism.
Raging if your idea is rejected is not pretty. It causes prolonged arguments. Take in criticism and improve your idea with the knowledge.
9. No bump spam.
As an author, only bump your idea once. If a few more people have positive feedback to add, you may bump again.
That was my guide to successful suggestion posting. I felt the need to post this. Think of it as a suggestion on how to suggest.
MOD EDIT: Sorry, just to point out. Bumping isn't permitted at all. If your idea sinks, it sinks.

OK, this is no good. This is exactly what Ygdrasel&CO tried to to do. By trolling. Do not, I repeat, NOT, try to make a name for yourself, by mass posting suggestions, trolling, spamming or commenting a lot. It's just annoying. On the other hand, don't post here if you are "Out of the water" or "Newly spawned". No one will take you seriously.

Do NOT have a 5 mile long sig telling everyone what you support and stuff like that. That's not personal.

No, high tech threads can't be supported. Ever. And I suggest you spend a few weeks lurking on here and see what gets hated on and note it.
