I speak for Camman18 and a lot of other people when I say that most people don't really like the blue animated world border. My proposition is that in a future update for Minecraft that you guys should put some of the far lands back into the game in front of the world border, as many people agree it adds more character and looks better than an animated blue line that kills you . You could also add a cutoff inside the far lands once you go 50 blocks or more into the far lands that acts as a final part of the world border, so it wouldn't interrupt any people trying to get the "left the confined of this world" death message.
Nobody is ever going to get there legitimately, not unless they are willing to spend many real-time days and a terabyte or so of storage:
Far Lands or Bust is a gaming Let's Play series where, since March 2011, video broadcaster KurtJMac has been attempting to reach the fabled Far Lands of Minecraft Beta 1.7.3. After thirteen years of slow, steady persistence Kurt is currently over 78% of the way there, and the journey continues...
Adding a special biome with the terrain? It just looks weird, because it is the result of broken calculations, Mojang has even trended towards making terrain more realistic (compare to this example of mountains in Beta 1.7.3), which I largely disagree with but they are the ones developing the game.
Its true that almost nobody would get to the far lands legitimately, but maybe if added to the game intentionally it could be its own biome or sub biome that is extremely rare and would generate more as you approach the world border. Yeah, few people would ever even see it and it realistically wouldn't add much to the game but it would add a reason for constant exploration and the reward of a view you couldn't get anywhere else
It's a matter of opinion, but to me, a world border where the terrain beyond looks normal is far more preferable than a sudden wall of impractical, incorrect terrain.
In practice, reaching the world border legitimately in survival (which is almost entirely how I play) is beyond the scope of anything I'd try anyway, so it probably doesn't matter to me.

My response to this is what I just posted in another thread:

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
