Beacons should have several additional options for effects to choose from. Things like Fire Resistance and Night Vision to a fully powered Beacon (like Regeneration, only they actually work properly), would give beacons more of a need to more players.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me three times, hold up, rewind, That's not even possible.
I don't see anything wrong with that. Currently, the limitations of beacons don't seem to justify the tremendous effort to grind for three wither skulls and hundreds of blocks of pyramid materials.

The most common use for a Beacon, as I see it, is for Haste 1 and 2. No one really uses it for Resistance, Jump Boost, Speed, or Damage. I guess it's not that those effects aren't used, it's that they aren't used nearly as often.

I'm less concerned about what effects there are and more concerned with the distance of the effects. The distance needs to be doubled. Beacons are useless unless it takes up a large area I think.

From a fully powered Beacon (4 layers needing a total of 64 + 64 + 36 blocks), the distance is 52 blocks from the edge of the base. That's a 113 by 113 area of usable beacon effect. This is only if you have a single beacon block on a 9 by 9 pyramid. If you make a pyramid with 6 beacons on it for all 6 effects, it gets just slightly bigger. That's a pretty significant area of usage. Doubling that area, would make it too strong of a structure and negate the need to farm a useful item, and by Mojangs logic, would destroy any kind of creative thinking they want players to have.

Using the ignore feature here is kinda weird.
