Gravity, and why it should affect everything
WARNING:this idea may be impossible,but I don't care :biggrin.gif:
When you look at the world of minecraft, you see things impossible in the real world.
Floating islands,Huge cliffs that baffle the mind, and anything you can think of.
Many of these things would be impossible if gravity pulled all blocks down to the ground.
On these forums, when somebody mentions "more gravity",the idea never get's through.
But,I suggest gravity because of one thing:
Aerial transportation
Imagine playing SMP,when, you see a huge ship flying through the sky, with very complicated devices keeping it airborne.
You want to build something like that, but how?
I will tell you.
The basics
first of all,Giant cliffs will still be possible, because if a block is attached to any other stable block,it will always stay
stable.

The structure is stable,but:

Isn't stable.
But won't that ruing floating islands?
Normally it would, but what if when the world is generating,if a floating island generates by itself, one of the blocks in it would be a special kind of block that made all block attached to it float?
You could mine it,but when the block is in a floating structure, the structure can't move.
Wait,so they can move?
Yes,that's the whole point!
floating devices
[] [] = Wooden turbine(Can also be made out of gold,steel and diamond(No stone))
[] []
A turbine can support a fixed number of blocks.
If the number of blocks are the same as the turbine can support, the blocks will hover. If there is less blocks, they will float, but if there is more, they will fall slowly.
turbines are powered by redstone, and their default state is off, which means you have to mine for a bit until you can conquer the skies.
Steel and diamond support many more blocks than wooden turbines, but you could use lots of weak turbines instead of a few powerful ones.
Finally, you can attach turbines to the SIDES of blocks as well as the bottom,so you can steer your ship.
P.S:Wooden turbines can burn,so be careful.
So,to use turbines, you would have to use a lot of redstone, which means noobs can't just make a giant floating ball of TNT in a few hours.
But...what if a enemy ship fires a TNT cannon at your turbines, destroying them?
Falling
Obviously, steel and diamond could take more damage than wood before breaking, but when they do,what happens?
You fall.:biggrin.gif:
Usually some of your engines will still work, which will allow you to slowly land.
But if all the turbines break, you fall just as fast as sand does now,but the blocks stay glued together.
When you hit the ground,Some blocks (both on the ground and on the ship) will break.
If you fall from a small height, your windows will shatter, and you will leave a bit of a crater, but your ship still could roam the skies if you repair it.
If you fall from a medium height, wood will shatter, some stone will too,but not as much, and you will leave a bigger crater.
It could take a whole minecraft day to repair the ship.(A lot of redstone)
If you fall from great height,
almost all stone from the ship will be broken,Most bricks will shatter, and the only thing that could survive unscratched would be obsidian.
And the area around you could be set on fire.
END
So,If you want to roam the skies, this would be perfect.
Just think.
Flying armies, merchants traveling in no time at all,and even huge chunks of land used as a flying base.
Comment and tell me what you think.

I'm 12.
Yes that does mean that most of you are older than me.
But It doesn't mean that my suggestions are not as good.
You are more mature than some of the 21 year olds around here >.> *Coughcreeperjockeyguycough* Congratulations.
I'm rather certain the gravity was suggested before, but you got straight to the point and didn't ramble on about other things first, so I'm not complaining. This would be pretty cool actually. I always thought Minecraft should lean a little more to LittleBig Planet's fine-tuned creativity.

You have a great idea, but it is remarkably similar to the link above.
