Golden Arrows. Something I thought of ten seconds ago. Anyways, I did the little Google search thing and didn't find stuff on Golden Arrows, so here they are. :3
Golden Arrows, perhaps could do 1/2 the damage but once used on any mob, they would ricochet of that mob, and maybe hit another mob. If it doesn't, it will keep bouncing till 5 minutes pass, until it hits three mobs, or until you leave the chunk. Crafted like normal arrows, but if you don't know what the recipe is, here it is:

And another idea, King Beds. Wouldn't have any chances of spawning a mob. I did suggest this awhile back, but that got lost with my Adlisium thread. Crafted like so: []
Not sure about gold, but Iron and even Diamond arrows, now there is an idea. But, instead of just 4, maybe 6 or even 8 per crafting. And considering that would do more damage, you would be needing so many.
Another arrow related suggestion... OK, we can retrieve our own arrows that go astray, right? Why not the arrows of skeletons?
Pretty cool idea, but make it more realistic. Gold turns to flint?
About the beds; I disagree. One kind of bed is enough.
Soon will there probably be 5 kinds of wolves, 5 kinds of pigs, 2 kinds of chickens, 5 kinds of arrows, 3 kinds of furnaces, 5 kinds of beds...
Perhaps you could retrieve the arrow three times, then the third time you use it, that's all you get?

Picked gold I feel it needs more uses, not because it does need more uses. And I wanted to make an arrow type that's retrievable even when you hit a mob, not just a skeleton. Maybe you'll get 3 arrows per craft, since they are worth 1 1/2 arrows.

Lets make this clear:
Gold cant turn into Flint.
It is impossible.
No, no, it can't. I mean you could use the arrow three times, but it would stay gold, thus it being worth 1 1/2 arrows.
Coding the "3-time use" is in my opinion: Impossible. You would have to change the item ID and then it wouldn't stack, taking up too much inventory. But instead they should be able to ricochet! A leap frog hit at a creeper and a bouncing-off-walls-arrow hits a climbing spider sounds awesome to me.
King beds sound cool; the ability to escape nightmares and have a safe spot in the middle of the wilderness... But unbalanced and impractical.

Ricochet actually sounds better. But, then what happens if it hits a wall? Ricochet still sounds better...
King Beds would definitely not be able to be placed anywhere where mobs can actually get to your bed.

1. One idea per thread.
2. Normal beds have a zero precent chance provided a mob can't get within two blocks of it. (Say in the middle of your house, not against an outer wall on the ground floor.)
just make it twice the size of a normal bed...
maybe a full block high, as well..
and getting fancy: perhaps it could have a headboard that goes up another half block... (making the total hight 1 + 1/2 blocks)
