I would like to ask if custom world generation can be added to Minecraft Bedrock.
By custom world generation, I mean being able to change what biomes and structures generate in the world. Like a toggleable option to change each biome or structure, how big they are and how often they spawn etc. Such generation features had existed before in Minecraft, however the exact versions and dates I'm not aware of.
So it would be nice to see such a world modification option return to Minecraft bedrock.
Even on Java world customization has been repeatedly downgraded over the years, they even removed a lot of the options from Superflat, which had them long before the "customized" world type in 1.8:
This section describes content that exists only in outdated versions of Java Edition.
Yes, you can do some of this with data packs but they aren't the same as being able to just change some sliders or preset codes from within the game itself. I'll also never forgive Mojang for never adding the ability to customize cave generation in 1.8, which could have been as simple as adding sliders for the "size" and "frequency" of cave systems (literally the only thing they changed in 1.7 was to reduce the size from 40 to 15 and increase the frequency from 1/15 to 1/7, making caves much more uniformly distributed):
I even made a mod (though it only worked within MCP so I never completed/released it) that added many more settings, including pages of settings for underground features (you could even replicate the cave generation in earlier versions of TMCW, which only added larger variants of "vanilla" caves, as opposed to entirely new cave structures):
This is not from TMCW but a customized world generated in 1.8:
One of the more interesting examples of changing cave generation to make very long and wider tunnels (not all will reach the maximum length/width. More normal caves an also be generated, I had the settings set to emphasize the larger caves, ravines could also be made much larger/more varied):
I even added the ability to change the size of mineshafts, in addition to toggling vanilla code which made them less common close to the origin before 1.13:
"overwrite air/liquids" means that strongholds will overwrite these blocks, preventing caves and bodies of water from disrupting them, and yes, the game supported more than 3 strongholds before 1.9, if not generating in the same manner as since:
I also made cave lava level and bedrock customizable (in TMCW I reduced lava level to 4 and made bedrock flat to make more use of the space, from 52 to 59 layers for caves/air below sea level):
Also, in my own modded versions I enabled Superflat worlds to have caves, in addition to more customization (for example, ever been annoyed at how rare passive mobs are in Superflat, as they only naturally spawn? Just add "animal" to the preset and now they spawn during world generation, in far greater numbers; likewise, "snow" adds snow if the biome is cold enough (otherwise, you must wait for it to snow and it will not appear below trees, as it does during world generation in my mods).

Yeah I miss custom superflat worlds on Ps4.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
