I feel like it's time that in the next update you're finally able to connect minecarts to trains and there are more types of rails too - like for example in the mod "railcraft". When I posted this suggestion on reddit it got deleted, because you aren't allowed to post suggestions that are part of mods?! XD But turtles were once also just part of mo's creation mod, so I see no reason why they shouldn't finally implement things found in buildcraft or railcraft like autocrafting, rails and connecting minecarts.
This is honestly a fantastic idea with a high power furnace cart as an engulfing could make a very efficient way off clearing out many good sized cave systems and mining operations. Though I believe that a new furnace cart would be needed, one with a higher output to pull more carts; perhaps a new consumable that fives more power. Or maybe a new cart altogether.
Though the addition of powered rails makes this either a complex idea or an obsolete idea.
Variations of this suggestion have been made (here and elsewhere) for years…

Granting that MS/Mj is frequently slow off the mark with both items & bug fixes, I see two things being needed to move the idea to fruition:
1) The idea needs to be fully fleshed out in terms of mechanics
2) There needs to be a mod that implements that version of the mechanics.
.......2a} the mod needs to become wildly popular — à la the pistons mod
Without those, I don't see the chance of MS/Mj improving furnace mincarts as likely to happen anytime soon.

SImply connecting minecarts together is... fine. Though I don't think we need fully decked-out trains.

I would add a few details that would be great!
1) ability to link carts. Else having anything like train is pointless.
2) new proper locomotives. With some UI, using coal/charcoal and water probably.
3) having minecart with chest having much larger inventory so it is actually making sense to use them to haul large amount of stuff around.
4) rail junctions so they can cross as "+" and new rial switch allowing left-straight-right changes of direction.
Rails and carts are another half-done feature essentially abandoned by the dev teams over the years.
I am trouble.
