Balance
I was intentionaly vauge with values on parts of this so that things like number of spells produce by one combination, the ink/redstone cost of runes, effect durations, and damage could be discusses to see if we can find values that people can agree on as not being overpowered.
Other
Feel free to post your own spell or enchantment ideas and I'll take a look at them.
Eh... When I picture Minecraft, it can't have magical stuff likes spells, enchantments, and other stuff like that.
Instead of those, I think there should be potions that add funny effects to your character.
So funny potions are more acceptable than funny magic?
I think maybe if this was a bit simpler (like only 2-4 spells as opposed to 12 or so) it would be better.
This would be fun, because right now I just run around with a lava bucket and water bucket as my fire and water spells. Maybe if spells did low amounts of damage, and could only be crafted with extremely rare items this would be balanced. People are going to hate on suggestion though, because they want minecraft to be "realistic" even though we already have green exploding dicks running around the place.
