What I propose for the future of the game is an ability to register beds for each individual player as well as the ability to allow Villager NPC's to claim some beds, but none which are registered to any player on a world.
Here's how it would work, what we need here is a set of chest of draw furniture (or something else like it at least), which will have a use beside adding another decoration block item for player bedrooms inside their homes. The chest of draw furniture will also be capable of tagging any adjacent bed to a player, this means Villagers will no longer attempt to steal or use them, and would instead try to seek another bed which has not yet been claimed, if no bed is nearby, they stay awake but obviously this means their trades do not cooldown.
The secondary use for this would be of course storage, each of the 3 draws will have 9 slots, making a total of 27, the same capacity of a single chest or barrel, however contrary to other storage, chest of draws are needed to inform Villagers to not use player beds as they have been claimed.
A world option only third feature, no gamerule commands needed and is a feature intended only for anti grief protection, registered player beds can no longer be stolen by other players, if a bed has been registered, it cannot be removed by a different player and nothing hazardous can be placed in a given radius of those beds such as lava, fire or TNT by another player. Of course the vanilla game doesn't have anywhere near the anti grief protections that it should, you can set permissions, but these permissions are not specific to any coordinate or region of a world and require the use of commands, and it's all or nothing, which isn't good enough, however adding in this feature with beds at least goes some way to beta testing this feature until it is improved upon later by Mojang.
Does this mean you can't sleep in someone else's bed?
I forgot to specify this one, but yes, there could be an additional option on top of disabling other players from removing or destroying other people's beds in the world option, neither can be chosen until bed removal is disabled first. The chest of draws themselves could also be protected from griefing, it stands to reason that if we are to disable other people from taking or using other people's beds, the chest of draws would need protecting too, as removing the chest of draws would remove the player ownership tag on the beds.
I should have also specified the materials for the chest of draws
Clearly it would be wood as this is the most common material used for making furniture, because it's cheap, that's obvious.
But the materials needed would be 8 planks, 1 iron nugget in the middle giving iron nuggets another use, the iron nugget for the knobs for the three draws, the chest of draws would be capable of tagging up to 2 beds that are closest to it, allowing for double beds to be linked to them. Shulker boxes could be stored in them, it does not matter whether the shulker boxes were dyed or were name tagged or not. How close do the beds need to be for the chest of draws to work? adjacent would suggest one block next to any bed, but I suppose having them work within an 8 block radius would work too and allow for players a little more freedom in how they design their bedrooms.

I didn't say anything about griefing, please read my question first next time. I asked if other players can sleep on a claimed bed besides the claimant.
