Add the Aether as a dimension when you fall asleep you would appear in Aether and could build and explore until you would die from falling from the floating Aether Islands or die from a new hostile Aether mob.
Hello everybody. The Aether you could you could travel to it when you fall asleep in your Minecraft beds if you choose to. Another way to go the Aether would be by making a glowstone portal and then lighting it up with water.
I would say the Aether should be accessible in the Overworld itself. Like, the build limit could be increased and one can literally build to the Aether itself, and if one falls, one falls back down to the overworld. The Aether could be more cloud based, or having solid cloud biomes in Minecraft.
You should probably explain the dimension? I mean, an entirely new dimension would be a pretty big deal. And you haven't described a single thing that's in it, so there's nothing much to support.
The grass on the floating islands would be bright green, There would be some tall Sakura trees on the floating islands,
The terrain would be mostly flat with only a few rolling hills, There would be a new ore named Aethernium which you could craft it into Aethernium armor or tools,
There would be the Aether cow which would drop Aether beef and if you ate Aether beef it would fill up 4 hunger and give you absorption for 6 minutes. On the biggest hill on the main Aether island there would be a temple which would look like a ancient Greek temple. In the temple there would be loads of Aethernium blocks and diamond blocks in a vault which would unclock after you kill the boss named Glyzarr. Glyzarr would deal 4 heart damage and would have 300 health. After you kill him that vault would unlock and he would drop 4000 xp.

That's a terrible idea because the floating aether landmasses will create random super dark spots on the overworld surface, thus turning the place into a cave/permanent night/grassy nether. Unless that's what you wanted.
I would much rather a separate dimension with void, buffer skylands gen of overworld.
If cloud blocks somehow do not block light, then sure, but that itself gives questions- we also already have clouds which are not solid.
And if you fall from the aether down to the overworld and die...seems unfair. Especially as water negates fall damage.

That was actually a criticism made against the introduction of the Cubic Chunks mod being made a legitimate feature in the vanilla game, the fundamental issue with it is it would continue to generate terrain upwards and potentially this would lead to the sky being blocked above some biomes, which could then lead to some unfair deaths in the Overworld, as it would be possible to have this happen when you just start your world.
Having the Aether do exactly that wouldn't be any better.
I agree that it should be a separate dimension, to avoid this issue.

Hello everybody. The Aether would be a very fun update cuz you could travel to it when you fall asleep in your Minecraft beds.
first: elaborate this dimension, what is useful about it? Should it provide something we need?
second: we shouldn't make it to where you sleep and you could travel there, if it is meant to be a dimension, then sleeping won't work as in it would be more of a dream than a dimension
third: you might wanna drop the "it'd be a very fun update" plot as in it'd just be a nuisance and it won't give positive thoughts at all

Having it be a dream dimension I can't see this idea being well received tbh, in fact being forced into this each time a player uses a bed would be a nuisance because there would presumably be no way to disable it legitimately unless it was activated by having a mysterious new item in inventory.
And what would a dream dimension entail? immunity from death? dying in the dream dimension doesn't cause the player character to die but instead just immediately wake up from their bed with all held items and XP intact? doesn't fit the survival theme of the game. Not even the mushroom island biome is this inconsequential and that's just a rare biome that exists on the Overworld where no hostile mobs can spawn, but you can still die from environmental hazards like drowning or falling.

Nice mention, it would be annoying if every time you sleep makes you dream and walk around, passing the night? Screw that, instead be stuck in this Dimension till it's Day Time, Idc if it would tp you back if you die, but it won't make a difference

Thanks. The second part of my comment wasn't a complaint about it necessarily, I just don't believe it fits the survival aspect, immunity from death, which a dream dimension would imply.
Some people may have wanted a paradise dimension but we already have an easy to survive in dimension, the Overworld, when you have enough enchanted gear and the facilities for brewing potions, trading and collecting food, that is, making the idea of the aether being a paradise dimension redundant.
Even if the aether were to be added and be a dream dimension granting players paradise, it probably wouldn't be as interesting as the Overworld, it may lack a day and night cycle, because doing so would mean time would need to exist here and having a day and night cycle would go against the idea of it only being accessible during night time.
You could tp back if you die in the dream dimension, either on purpose or accident, but even if you didn't and just woke up after the time there expired, none of your progress there would carry over, you won't keep the items regardless, so it would be a useless dimension only accessible at certain times.
The Aether is based from a old mod so another way to go to the Aether would be a portal made out of glowstone and instead of using flint and steel you would use water

We knew what you meant. We know where the Aether comes from. Still, Jeb said that no new dimensions will be happening.

That's probably because it would be hard to design it in a way that is appealing to players, it may not be as liked as some think if it were to become a legitimate feature in the game, there's all sorts of things that can go wrong with an update like this, and bigger updates have the biggest potential to ruin the game if not done properly and I do consider adding in a new dimension a big update, because it would entail not just a new dimension but a lot of new items with it. And of course it would result in people's save files taking up more space on their storage drives, just as exploring the Overworld or any other dimension already existing in the game does.
There was a lighting and performance issue with having an "aether" or sky dimension, hence what became the End dimension as a result. There's likely other reasons the "Aether" isn't happening as well. But, who knows if something were to change in the future.

That problem is not big, it could be solved with Optifine shaders {shaders change all light calculations of minecraft with a semi-realistic one}.

Sorry I didn't finish the description but when I was gonna write about it I had to go study for a test.
I finished description in the replies. Reply #5 is the rest of the description.

Yes I have a lot of posts here - my posts are super short
