Wolves enjoy scattering and not staying close. I say that right clicking a block on the ground makes your wolf go to that block and stay. If you have more than one wolf, then it will choose a random one. Now this will be difficult if you are just tilling dirt for seeds and what not, right? No. The command will only go to the wolf when you currently are selecting an empty slot. Other than a lever and maybe some other things I am forgetting, right clicking with an empty slot has no function except for this.

Um...You can make wolves sit by right-clicking them.
Wolves are not a primary part of the game, they are an add-on. Designating your right click to something that most players might not even have is just a waste. Let's not forget that right-clicking already has a purpose for almost every block type, a purpose that is central to the game.

But you have to catch your wolf to make him sit, and still, he might not be in the spot you want him in. If your dog is outside wondering around at night time and you want him in. You right click a block in your base and your dog will walk to that block and sit.
