this is a very basic suggestion, unfortunately i couldn't find anything to group it with to give it more "meat" except maybe to restate some of the airship ideas. this is basically just a request to add more tiles above the earth. these tiles need be nothing more than "airspace" as they aren't necessarily meant to be filled. this airspace would allow for greater heights for mountains, but should remain mostly empty so that people can build on it.
there was a suggestion for volcanoes, and if they were implemented then having greater space in the sky would help alleviate any flattening that may occur in large volcanoes. the biggest purpose for the increased altitude is for large towards, more specifically spires. the (124?) block limit is a lot of room initially, however the sea starts at level 64, giving you 80 blocks to work with. normally a "story" is 4 blocks, so you could build a 20 story building. this is really cool, and is actually bigger than i first thought, but most mountains begin to reach the maximum altitude, thus making it difficult to see buildings from afar. increasing the limit by 30 or so would allow us to go above the mountains and create "beacons" that will be visible from great distances (until you hit the render limit.) this suggestion would also allow for players to build towers on top of tall mountains. so, basically the reason for adding these blocks is to add some breathing room to the top of the map. and allow for floating island cities.
this is a great idea ive always wanted to create a sky building
