Since when are real beaches only a few meters wide, and slanting at near 45 degree angles?
Nearly every beach I start on is like that. Why can't we have more flatter beaches? And if not flatter, longer? Not longer as in the sense of being everywhere that water touches your island, but in the sense on going inland more. I believe beaches should extend 10-15 blocks inland or until confronted my a vertical cliff, and only be up to 2 blocks high.
you wll find that around the shore line there is sand and sometimes clay... this is beach enough
Have you ever been to a real beach? Beaches are a lot deeper inland than Minecraft beaches.
i went to Maui for 2 weeks. yes i have been to a real beach >:biggrin.gif:
and minecraft is supposed to be exactly like the real world
All I am asking is for a beach to be a beach. I get that Minecraft ins't supposed to be exactly like the real world, but seeing longer, more common beaches, I feel would make a great addition to the game.
What possible positive gains will be obtained from extending the length of a beach biome? What about those who do not like the beach (believe it or not, this is possible)?
Also consider the amount of people complaining that it takes longer to get wood because they have to travel further inland.
Outside of sheer aesthetic preference (which will polarize the audience), I do not see the need for this concept. Expand your idea further.
Traveling inland to get to trees wouldn't be a problem at all. I'm not asking for beaches to be huge, just reasonably beach sized, big and flat enough for it to be a beach, but still be able to see trees from the shoreline.
And the whole beach thing would be primarily for aesthetics, unless someone wanted to create a sandcastle or something.

No minecraft isn't. It's based off the real world, but redstone does not exist in the real world, and neither does tree punching, or zombies and all that. So no!

Any Suggestions/Opinions?

True, some are. But few, not enough.
