What if there was a recipe for Japanese-style paper walls that, although blocking vision, allowed light to pass through? It could be used to hide torches and fire if you don't want visible light sources, or to create indoor areas that are still lit by sunlight.
(I've found suggestions for paper walls, but none that allow light to travel through)
Idea for a crafting recipe (arrows = sticks, white blocks = paper) that could produce 4 blocks.
It would probably make sense if they could be destroyed in one hit, but doing so rips the paper and ruins the block. Destroying it would only return a single stick.
they would be bad for shelter. imagine a creeper standin outside... then he walks through
I don't think you should be able to walk through. It would be pretty annoying to accidentally brush against your paper wall and destroy it. And it would pretty much preclude having narrow paper hallways. Destroying it in one hit seems like a better idea.

Like fencing it could look thin, while still taking up the space of a full block.
