Anyway, it'd be cool if there was some events in a world that would only rarely happen. I had some basic ideas:
Technologic Creepers: A strange, gray disk would appear on the horizon. When you got closer, it would descend and land. When you got close, you would see nothing. If you walked the right way, your head would hit metal, and the ship would come uncloaked. Three creepers would come out and attack you. After dying, it would basically just be a static object that you could make your home in. The UFO would be made out of a custom material called Creepermetal, which looks like chrome metal and reflects it surroundings. It has the explosion resistance of obsidian but can be mined with a pickaxe at the speed of stone. There would also be Nanochests, which would be a chest, but with a special ability. They would look like the alien containers from Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta. The special ability is that there would be a tube on the outside. If you right clicked the tube, it would bring up a UI. You could drop items in, which would go to another normal or nano chest of your choice.
Hallucination: After being in a desert biome for at least 5/6 a Minecraft day, you would start seeing things. You would see bizarre things, like giant creepers, 1 block high trees, and ghasts in the overworld, that wouldn't do damage. Eventually, your camera would go into that of a bed and your vision would fade. In SMP, it would look like you were spread eagle on the ground, facedown. When you got up, some time would have passed. In SMP you could be helped up by a friend, or just left there. You could also hallucinate other events.
Herobrine: You would be walking around in a cave (has to be in a cave) and you would see two white eyes turn toward you from the darkness. If you didn't scream at the top of your lungs and faint, you could follow him. The fog would instantly turn to tiny and he would extinguish any torches placed. If you caught him, you could try to kill him. Upon losing too much health, he'd take out dual diamond pickaxes and dig a very quick tunnel, covering each block dug with smooth stone. Once he is out of sight in the tunnel, he will vanish.
What do you think?

If time is money, then are ATMs time machines? Your mind has been blown.
Nah. I think the only things in Minecraft that you don't do are mobs walking around, infinite map generation, day/night cycle and exploding creepers, and it should stay that way.
don't be too much of a nostalgic, i think some of these ideas may be a little weird, or out of place, but some form of events could happen. after all wasn't notch thinking of implementing siege events for zombies.

What about players that live in a desert biome?
No.

HAHAHAno.
Sure is derp in here.
My first warning was 'This was taken from Runescape' which was quickly followed by 'like the alien containers from Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta'...
'High-tech' nano chests interfacing with regular chests?
'Hallucinations' from staying in the desert, where some people live full-time?
Even mentioning 'Herobrine'?
Come back when you have an original idea? I just don't see these working well in Minecraft, let alone how laughably undeveloped and poorly thought out they are.
I like the idea of random "events" but not the way you said it
What I would want is rare blocks, like pumpkins, and some cool new biomes so you can find cool stuff when you explore above ground and it's not just about digging and running the hell away from
