To avoid the tediousness of needing a constant current, it would have to be mobile in still waters (possibly steerable).
To solve the issue of houses floating away when you don't want them to (in the above scenario), this would perhaps require an option upon block placement to employ a mobile or stationary block. Coding nightmare if not impossible.
That said, if mobile blocks happens, that would be awesome. I still want to build a functional viking ship, maybe not so much a floating house.
Not floating in air, floating on water. As in moving, steerable large scale boats.
