Came up with a game mode idea, similar to TF2. The basis is that three teams are fighting over something or other. The object can either be control over a resource or area, or destroy both enemy Fortresses. There will be different classes, such as a resource gathering woodsman or a farmer, more offensive classes like a swordsman or a marksman, and some specialty classes like the red stone wizard or the smithy. The idea is to work not only as a team against your enemies, but you can also work with one team against another, or stop two teams from working against you.
The idea i was looking for was a chaotic game to keep all players on their toes. Each class works for the betterment of the team. Teams don't have names yet, but that will be up to those on the team, each team votes on their own name at the start?
Classes:
Woodsman-armed with a hatchet, collects wood, gives to smithy to craft with, or can give to the architect to build with.
Miner-same as woodsman but with stone, armed with a pickaxe.
Swordsman-starts with sword, is used in both offense and defence.
Smithy-crafts, has access to crafting table and furnace. takes resources and turns them into tools for the other class. also builds doors, windows and the like for the architect.
Red Stone Wizard- Works with red stone to create traps, maybe locks and other red stone musings? Uses TNT as well.
Farmer-Tends to wheat farm, perhaps animal as well.
Marksman-Scout/Lookout. Starts with Bow and arrows, can hit from afar.
Architect-Builder and designer. Takes resources and turns them into structures.
As i said, the name of the game is team work. The classes should be working together at all times to insure the safety of the team. Everyone should be in contact at all times.
Mobs should exist, as it adds another level of excitement and danger to the game.
Maps can be any size. Quick games can be in enclosed spaces, longer games can be on an entirely open world.
This is my idea, just got it and started writing it down. It's not perfect and I'm more than happy to here any thoughts or ideas, especially those that can help make the game a reality.
