I have been playing minecraft for awhile now and I have thought of this idea. It is a little thing that shows you what you have crafted and how to craft it. If you have never crafted let's say bricks, it will say unknown block, but if you have crafted bricks before it would show you how to craft it if you have forgotten. The thing with this is that it just helps you remember how to craft something. I would personally like it to look very organized like this. You could minimize options for faster searching. A + symbol would represent 'open', while the - symbol would represent 'minimized.'
Well for one, there's already a Wikipedia for Minecraft.
And second, Stats and Achievements are said to come with the upcoming Update.
Sooo... Just wait about a week?
I think this idea has a lot of potential, but it requires a lot of expansion and polish before it's ready to be added to the game.
Personally, I've been musing on the idea of "blue prints" or some other in-game method of recording crafting recipes. I've also been thinking about how a system like this could be integrated with the in-game books to give them a more practical purpose. The goal would be to encourage players to discover recipes on their own in-game without resorting to an online guide or external. Right now, some of the more obscure or complex recipes practically require the player to have a friend or online guide to learn about them and that doesn't seem right to me.

That is exactly what I am trying to say. I don't want to have to go to the wiki every time I forget something. The idea for the players to actually figure things out on their own is also a reason why I posted this. Going to the wiki just seems like it may drag out the fun of trying new crafting recipes.
