Add a iron bar Door to make jail cells more realistic

I would like to add another little suggestion.

On top of adding the iron bar door, change the texture of the iron door.

The window should be replaced with iron bars.

Support: one for the builders.

While I understand the intent, the simple problem is that the doors just don't stick to iron bars right - the former is on an edge of a block, the latter is centered and then extends to middle sections of adjacent blocks.
Instead, I propose something more akin to a fence gate, but two blocks tall like doors, so that it's centered.

Good idea. 7.8/10.

Could we not have the crafting of an iron door done with more specifics. craft one way its got a window craft another its got iron bars craft one way it centers, craft another way it places on edge we have 9 blocks to craft in; that should surely gain enough variables to allow 2 items with two positions. Is it Too complicated?

Current lay out for an iron door is 6 iron ingots in the left and centered column the right column has nothing

Why not have it that you need to add a wooden door to the mix place it in the center of the middle column to have it centered place it on the right or left to have it on an edge. Want a window add a glass pane want bars add iron bars on the right hand side column?

FD: 1) want a door with a small window like a prison cell door door? add a button with the pane of glass.

Yeah, I can get behind this. I always actually wanted more designs to doors like this idea.

I feel doors need a function not just decor.

Like a Copper Door would be nice but Redstone wise what would it do different to Iron. Would it be similar to Obsidian Pressure Plate mods to only allow players and be more restrictive. That or it design wise having a hole in it so I can see out it more/fire arrows, place bars or glass panes in it allows for customisation to it so you can have your jail cell doors, a fancy door or something, giving it more purpose and giving it decor purpose too, or else it's just another door but looks different colour/design wise. Not into visuals, I'm more into gameplay so that's just the way I think sorry.

A Gold one would offer maybe similar in line with the Gold Pressure Plate or something more suited to a door.

Doors have a lot to be considered not just looks unless it's just another Wooden Door like block. But Iron Doors have Redstone features so thinking that way, if it didn't think wouldn't even have considered it.

That and I hate decor mindsets, sorry to burst bubbles, it's why I end up never using half the blocks in the game. Unless I don't have anything else to build with then sure but otherwise I never use them in the game because if I have nothing to do with them recipe wise, other blocks are easier to get, time is saved building with them to do other tasks or with other parts of gameplay, decor is still adding nothing.

Sure I can give it that value of it looks appealing but other than building it still is doing nothing. It's why I find mobs outside of Cows, Horses, Dolphin and so on (food, mount, etc. useful drops) to be useless other than filling in the world.

Filling in the world is fine but if they do nothing why in a survival game would I care. In other games I don't mind it as they don't serve a survival purpose but in a survival game I do because everything needed enough of a purpose. In survival why would i use it other than to use it once and never again other than to change what walls I stare at. At least that's how I play the game, for builders go for it but if decor hard pass.

That or I think too gameplay focused not 'what would I add to my playground/world' because I think too much about what I can do in games not the world. I play games not look at them or care what's really in them as much.

NO SUPPORT IF ONLY FOR DECOR. NEEDS REDSTONE PURPOSE OR SOMETHING ELSE.
