You know all that useless redstone you mine constantly?
How you only need it when you don't have or have SO much when you have no use for it?

Well this is a suggestion to make that worthless redstone actually useful.

You can make redstone blocks. Made of 9 redstone in a square. Powers like a torch, looks nice, and is used for other things
Redstone cubes. These are made from 4 redstone blocks and power a whopping 8 blocks near it, but you can change the distance. It is a 4x4 placeable block.
Sun cubes. These can hold sunlight. 4 glass and 4 redstone. This is a placeable block that delivers sunlight, so it hurts those or , and gives off alot of light
Redstone inverter. When powered turns off power, but when not powered it gives off power.
Ghast cubes. Made from redstone cubes and is, effectively, a placeable ( not pick-up able ) ghast spawner.

Make them more useful, and the "inverter" already exists as a redstone torch.

1. Redstone blocks won't look nice at all.
2. Redstone cubes? You didn't even make sense in your idea, so, no.
3. Sun cubes? Just, no.
4. Inverter? Behold, block+torch
5. Ghast cubes? People like you make me believe the human race is doomed to stupidity.

Maybe I should be clearer in my ideas.

Anyways the inverter is just to be more compact than a block and a torch.

There are blocks for most minerals except coal, so why not a redstone one? Also you could make the block look nice, maybe some shine or something!

The Redstone Cube is so you can power something from far away. It has 9 positions, each of which a corresponding distance of power in every direction. So if you have dust 5 blocks away from the cube, and set the cube to 5 - 8 the dust will be powered. The 9th position is off. Also it's the first place able thing that's more than 1 x 1 block.

*edit* Also you the cube can power things above it 1 - 9 blocks, so you can open a door, set off TNT, light a room, all from afar.

Although a way you could change the cube is it has 8 positions, each corresponding to an equivalent distance, then if you power it, it turns off. You could use it as a light switch to light a room with redstone torches, or something more clever than I can come up with.
