This is my first minecraftforum post so please bear with me. flashlights sounds like a good idea to me
Credit goes to whoever thought of this before me
Here's the design []
[] =glowstone block =redstone dust =iron ingot
Here's how it works.
1) It works the same way as a regular torch, but it is mobile.
2) It can be set on solid surfaces, just like a torch.
3) Turns on when equipped or set on solid surfaces and turns off when taken off the surface or when you switch to another block in your hand.
4) Lights up where you're facing and more of a narrow area than a torch
5) Has a light level slightly above a torch's.
6) Has a span up to 10 minutes of power.
7) When the battery (in this case I'm referring to the redstone) is dead, you can take your dead flashlight, put it on the top of the, 2x2 crafting square, put redstone dust on the bottom, and the flashlight will work again. Here's a picture for all of you who don't understand.

[] =empty space =redstone dust
If any of you guys have any more ideas, feel free to post them. :smile.gif:
If you knew people posted it before, why did you post?
1) It works the same way as a regular torch, but it is mobile.
I'm pretty sure that the two are completely different.
2) It can be set on solid surfaces, just like a torch.
Why not just use a torch?
This idea isn't completely fleshed out and thought about. Please expand it.
answer to first statement) I simply gave credit to anyone who thought of the idea first just incase that person actually existed.
answer to second statement) i was referring to how they both are a light source. forgot to point that out.
answer to third statement) good point.
again as i said in my first line, "this is my first minecraftforum post."
