To give a little background, I've been playing Minecraft for nearly 9.5 years now. | got the game when | was 9 when | saw a close friend playing. | joined just in time for the 1.1 updates and have been playing ever since. I've had hundreds of Minecraft words and playing on almost every platform. Java, Xbox 360, Xbox 1, PS3, PS4 and Bedrock. I've seen this game through every update and whenever was added, the best thing about Minecraft is the ability to explore. With different mobs and animals scatters across the almost infinite world walking, flying, or even riding your horse around the world to explore. But some of the structures you find arent, honestly, worth it. Most of the structures are years old and haven't been touched in any meaningful way in years. Villages were given a complete overhaul in how they work and their place in the world. When you find a village it's a living breathing thing in the world and interacts with it. What I'm asking is a small update, or have this attached to another update.
1) Dungeons
Dungeons haven't been touching since being added, it would be nice to see some cobwebs and cobblestone walls/stabs/stairs mixed in and one of the walls crashed down. Along with better loot, spawners can also spawn harder mobs. Other than it just being the same as naturally spawning mobs they could, for example, have zombies spawn with strength and/or regeneration along with the skeletons having a chance to shoot fire arrows. They would also have a better chance of spawning with armor. The mobs that spawn from the spawner will also ignore the light level. The idea is that people will have to fight to stop the spawner from spawning more of these mobs, instead of people just running in and placing torches to neutralize it.
2) Mineshatts
Mineshafts could be larger in size and perhaps have a dungeon spawn at the end or center of it making them a great way to get resources but having
harder mobs spawn.
3) Strongholds
Strongholds are the end of the game, a story is told just by the color of the bricks. It's been aged and forgotten, yet we just ignore it completely outside of
the end portal. The only thing to look for is the end portal, that's it. There's knowing of interest in it and that honestly is a shame considering how important it is to the game. Taking ideas from the dungeon suggestion | made having something similar along with a sort of mini-boss in the end portal room. An enderman poss of something? So making it to the end portal is also a fight to reclaim the stronghold. Some building improvements like the library having lectures and empty enchanting tables. Meaning you have to look for an enchanting table book (Something you could get from looting structures). Having zombie villagers locked in the prison cells. There can also be a chance (fairly rare) that Pillagers, Vindicators, or Envoker have taken control of the stronghold and you'd have to fight them as well as the stronghold mobs. Giving one of the most important structures a revamp and make it a real fight just to get to the end of the game and the endgame loot.
4) Nether Fortresses
Morphed Wither skeleton(s) (mini-bosses for the fortress) roam the decaying structure alongside their normal wither skeleton brothers. Blazes have a
chance of being the armored variant with iron/gold armored plates granting them higher health and 5 instead of 3 fireballs. instead of having the loot spread out around the whole fortress, i's collected almost completely in the main building with wither roses on the ground and a blaze spawner resting high in the center.
5) Desert / Jungle Pyramids
Having more Redstone traps or even traps in general. Shields make the Jungle pyramid's arrow traps meaningless and if you just mine anywhere that isn’t directly above the pressure plate of the Desert pyramids the trap doesn't work. Something new for the Jungle pyramids would be a lava/pitfall trap along with the chest having a chance to be a trapped one to activate some TNT. Desert pyramids could have a new super husk called the mummy that spawns next to some sort of golden coffin and can cause hunger and blindness along with calling husks in the area to come and attack. Instead of having the TNTfall trap, a staircase can lead you down to this room with tripwires setting of TNT that way instead.
6) Woodland mansions
Instead of having a mansion, perhaps a castle, or some sort of other structure. There should also be more mobs and ravager pens/stables. Along with more of an underground base rather than a super large mansion aboveground allowing for more and larger rooms.
7) Swamp Huts
Having swamp houses instead where multiple witches spawn and having dispenser traps that shoot out poison, instant damage or arrows of them to cause damage including pillagers fighting alongside to protect their position brewing spots.
8) Pillager Outposts
Large towers with a moat of water protecting it, witches spawn to assist the protection and having a ravager pen.
9) End Cities
This should be added in an end update, but more defensive mobs outside of the shuckers. Some end zombie variant or skeleton-type mob along with having larger structures and multiple entrances fro the gound. The elytra should be in the middle of a large pillar surrounded by mobs making it a very hard fight to get the elytra.
There's a ton of other ideas I would like to have added to the current existing structures but I've toned them down to allow other ideas to be implemented and I've tried to stick to the current Minecraft idea of exploring this world. I don't think anything I've suggested would be changing the game too much outside of some of the wooden mansions getting an overhaul. But this should add to the existing structures rather than fundamentally changing them. Some other ideas I had would be having a super rare structure called "player structures", something like a random crafting table, or a dirt hut just in the middle of a plains biome. This is just something I would like to see added to the base game but understand if others did agree. I'll be adding pictures to give a better idea on what I'm talking about so you can get a better visual idea.
