I had an idea for a new armour, emerald armour, this armour would be made out of emerald blocks that had to be mined, not traded with villagers, making it harder to get than netherite, I was thinking that it had a better armour rating than netherite (not too much better but a decent amount), and it could be scaled, so by combining the pieces with emerald blocks you could make the armour more powerful. So, for example: you could put a total of 50 blocks of emerald on each piece, with each block giving a small armour buff and every 10 giving one extra heart, but you could only get a total of 5 extra hearts from the set, so if you had 10 on each piece you would be getting only 1 heart but if u had 20 on one and 10 on the others you would be getting 2 hearts, 30 on one and 10 on the rest is 3 hearts etc. So a maxed set (200 emerald blocks) would give maybe around 3 times the amount of defence as netherite and 5 extra hearts.
Note: This would be a very late game set as all the emeralds would have to be mined, and it is meant for very old worlds with an extremely high local difficulty counter.
Also note: This has taken heavy inspiration from emerald armour in hypixel skyblock.
Strong opposition. 1. Mojang gave diamonds 10 years of their position as the end-game gear. Netherite only recently took its place. They won't just give it to some other material within years.
2. Mojang want to make emeralds somewhat common in 1.18 Mountains. And those emeralds will not be available that much in depths, but rather near mountaintops. They definitely won't give end-game armor recipe for a material that will literally stick out of Overworld mountains.

It possibly would be a weaker iron armor (just in my opinion) due to the new update but the biggist question is....
