Anywho, I was browsing colors I can create on the Wiki, and realized the incredible amount of cloth colors this game lacks.
I figured, that instead of using the 'terrain.png' for all the colors in Minecraft, you can make a new .png but call it the pallet. So you can just make the cloth in grayscale and make a new picture in some stupid folder with all the colors you could possibly want on that cloth block, effectively using only one little pink square in the 'terrain.png'
I'm sorry if I can't explain this very well right at this moment, I'm a bit at loss for words for what I'm trying to explain. I will post pictures when I have more time.
I'm pretty sure this wouldn't work. You still would have to program in the things that would dye the wools those colors. If you really want a different wool color, change the texture of the wool.

I don't see how it wouldn't work, I mean if you can get biomes in there it shouldn't be that difficult to get wool too. Unless you can elaborate a little better on why it wouldn't work.
