Ok here it is (also forgive me if this has already been suggested, i did look down the previously suggested topic)
Basically the idea would be to take a a constuction, for example (and possibly the easiest) a pirate ship, and make it free moving like a boat, you would be able to turn it, and drive, and, hopefully, anchor it. Either the blocks would somehow be defined as a group, or they could be placed on a special block type that defines the construction.
Problems of course would arise if the block was destroyed or removed, the simplest option in my opinion would to make it obsidian-like or once destroyed have all the blocks touching it destroyed.
Another problem would be that, if the constrution is moving with an object or unrestrained (not in a bed or minecart or something similar) person on it that they would be thrown off. I guess to remedy this you'd have to set the construction as i would say it's own world, im not sure how hard it is, but you'd have to create it so the player is only influenced by objects on the construction ex. being apart of it instead of on top of it.
