Yesterday I was trying to make a private server for me and my friends to play and mess around on without any griefing or random people joining. But the problem is I use a mac and to run a server I have to port-forward my IP adress and keep a terminal window open at all times. But then I thought if Notch implemented a LAN function me and my friends could just come over to my house, mess around, build stuff, and I could save the world for later use. Since most games have this I thought minecraft should to. .And also Mic support for multiplayer would also be a fun feature
don't you just have to put in your local ip adress in the "IP ADRESS:" field in the property file? And of course, port forward before that. :ohmy.gif: And they could either join by the local one or your actual one. IPv4?
