With the recent addition of Copper to Minecraft, I propose a new use for it: Bronze! Bronze would be a new tier of tools and armor. Better than iron, but diamond still is stronger. This way there is an actual good tier between iron and diamond. Gold has it's uses, I know, but gold tools and gold armor have bad durability. And as Bronze is harder than pure iron, my thought is that we should have a bronze tier. Here's how it would work:
To make bronze gear, you would need tin bars. To get tin bars, you need to get iron ingots and smelt them again in a furnace, turning them into tin ingots similar to how stone can be smelted into smooth stone. Then, a secondary use for the smithing table would be added. You put a copper ingot in one slot, and a tin ingot in the other, to create bronze ingots. Then, bronze ingots can he used to create bronze tools and armor, just like other crafting recipes, only replace iron, diamond, etc. With bronze ingots. This way, copper, as well as the smithing table, can have another use.
Bronze tools would have higher durability than iron, and deal more damage than iron, but still have less durability and deal less damage than diamond. Bronze armor would have higher protection and higher durability than iron, but less durability and less protection than iron.
I hope this can be implemented in a future update for all systems, and not just be a mod. Thank you for reading.
Tl;Dr: Add tin to Minecraft so we can use copper to make Bronze tools and equipment.
Possibly. I did not check beforehand. But I still think there should be some sort of armor/tools tier that is actually fairly useful that lies between iron and diamond.

Historically speaking, that makes no sense. Bronze tools (and by extension, copper) were dominant for a long time, but only because nobody had discovered how to work iron. Iron tools are objectively superior to bronze, so once iron became widespread bronze stuff basically became irrelevant.

Given the current functionality of the smithing table, I would instead have it be that you apply copper to iron armour to get bronze armour.
Also, I think there's already a suggestion for this...
