I know this has been suggested plenty of times, just adding some tweaks.
So, wouldn't it be cool if there was diseases in Minecraft? I had some ideas for them.
Porphyric Hemophilia: A disease contracted by getting hit by a zombie. There is a 10% chance of contracting the disease. The way to know you are infected by any disease is your hearts turning purple. Porphyric Hemophilia would, for the first Minecraft day, you would occasionally stumble (speed decrease) and you would mine slower. Such as, leaves would take the time to remove as dirt, and stone would take the time for coal ore. At night, your camera would shake, and a zombie groan would be heard. For the night, you would be a zombie. Upon day, you would burn up and die. CURE: Mushroom Stew.
Famine: Not necessarily a disease, but still a condition. If you do not eat any food in 3 Minecraft days after contracting any different disease, you would move slower, and sometimes your camera and character would collapse, and get up at a random time. You would mine leaves at the speed of stone with a wood pickaxe. After contracting it, you would have 1 Minecraft day to eat food, or you will die. CURE: Any food, Cooked Porkchop works best.
Rockjoint: Contracted by excessive fighting monsters. All actions would be 35% slower. CURE: Bucket of Milk.
Solophobia (Sol means sun): Caught by staying below dirt level for at least 2 complete Minecraft days and nights. When you go towards the sun, your character would quickly back up. CURE: Staying at the surface for the sunrise.

If time is money, then are ATMs time machines? Your mind has been blown.
It is already suggested. Like poison, it is replaced by fire and its burning effect. Sure, you can heal it and it won't go away as well as damaging less often, but the fact it is already a whole lot like fire is the reason why people don't like the idea.
