The generation of trees has not been changed since the beta version, they have only added new tree types and that's it.
I say the next update (1.19) should be focused on tree generation, more specifically, on making them more realistic and dynamic, also more massive and taller (15- 23 blocks).
With the new 1.18 update, Minecraft would look even more immersive.
The 1.19 could be more about nature, The Natures update, the main thing, of course, would be the trees, but they could also add these ambient sounds, similar to what Dynamic Surroundings mod is providing, add more details like random sticks and stones in the grass.

If you want to show people how good the trees look, why have you taken a screenshot at NIGHT when it's dark? I can hardly see any details in that picture!
I like the idea, and I do think these things ought to be added, (I usually play with an ambient sound mod, and something like terraforged- which improves terrain generation as well as trees and whatnot), but I don't think they qualify as a whole update on their own. I just feel like there's other areas of the game that have more potential to be updated/upgraded.

That picture looks good, but if it is just focused on tree generation, then it would be a small update. Also, I think that pots will be added in 1.19 as one of the major features.

Aren't pots archaeology (1.18)?
Trees won't be the only focus. AntiMaze mentioned pebbles and sticks, and ambiance, and there are other things to be done, parity with bedrock via logs, stumps, and dying trees; more animals, maybe lighting changes. Just use your imagination.

Dying trees do exist, it looks like a tree that fell down. Sticks already drop from leaves, and pebbles don't seem like it would go with the style of minecraft. Lighting changes would be nice, but if this lighting change is similar to the other ones, I don't think it would be a big deal. Also, there are other systems that could be updated. I don't think trees deserve their own update. If this was a part of a big generation update, I would be totally fine. I think if this will be the whole update, then 1.19 might be another rushed update. The End hasn't been updated for years since 1.9 in early 2016, and with the overhaul to caves and the nether, the End seems to be lacking features. I think an End update would be better than a tree generation update.

I hope 1.19 won't be a split update like 1.17 & 1.18. Mojang (or Agnes) stated that they wanted to release the update as official version to get feedback.
Seems off to me. They could have announced a snapshot on yt ect and asked for cretique imo. (by cretique i mean feedback)
Anyway this split is what calms me down at the moment. I'm not playing 1.17, i'm waiting for 1.18+
Targeting the end for 1.19 would be a good choice imo. For me there is only 2 reasons to enter the end: Shulkers & Elytras.
I don't care about the dragon and the end itself... I can't stand that skybox texture, the uninspiring terrain and the lack of content.

Id like it if they updated the trees along with more resources to enable better tree growths for example mining a salt block to combine with water to create a salt water block to grow with palm trees to produce coconuts etc coconuts could be a solid out of block similar to melon which breaks into small coconuts it would be good to utilise the floating aspect of water and allow coconuts to wash up on shores depending on where they float to palm leaf could be crafted in to another source of fuel similar to kelp of charcoal or mined with sheers and used as a decorative block id also like it if they could vary the colours of trees not just in biomes but minable with sheers to capture red, yellow and brown leaf im sure there is mods already doing this but if the implemented it in the main game it would expand the building of trees I'm a big way if new trees aren't feesable

Imo trees should at least be tall enough that you can ride a horse underneath them. Let's get rid off this stupid horse nerf.
There is no reason to have saddles in treasure lootpools as long as horses are useless bc of trees.
Also why don't make trees fall down when mined. Simular to dynamic trees. I don't want them to look like dynamic trees.
The thing is: in forests with small trees i use flint&steel to just get them out of the way.
Doesn't work with jungle trees or big spruce trees. We need to somehow climb up those damn things and chop them from top to buttom.
I'm not complaining about realism here. Doing the lumberjack in vanilla isn't fun imo. It's even worse if you don't have an elytra.

A tree update sounds cool but I think it could be just nature in general, like adding more crops and more physics to farming and keeping plants alive
Jeff_Milk waiting for your reply thanks!
