Tell me, what's the difference between a seasonal forest and a rainforest? A tundra and a taiga? All of these biomes are basically the same. I suggest huge overhauls to make biomes seem more epic.
Firstly, biomes need to be huge. They need to take several Minecraft days to cross.
DESERT:
Mobs:
Sand Creeper -
The sand creeper is a reskinned creeper that has a sandy texture, that will blend right in. They will make a 1x1x2 hole and sit in it, and just blow up. Watch out for those mines!
Mummy -
At night time, the mummies will raise from the dead. Replacing skeletons and zombies, these will be one of the main enemies. They move fast and do alot of damage, and are very hard to deal with. They drop bones.
Spirit -
At night time, the spirits will raise from the dead. Replacing skeletons and zombies, these will be one of them ain enemies. They move very fast and do little damage, and are easy to deal with once caught. They will accompany mummy's, and open doors/break blocks (except for obsidian) in the way of the mummy's pathfinding. They drop glowstone dust.
Pharaoh Zombie -
At night time, these will rise to command the undead legions. They basically run around and the enemies follow them.
Sand Spider - Basically a normal spider, except for the fact that it will make caves out of sand (don't know how this will work) and respawn in there. Spider caves will despawn after 1 Minecraft week.
Events:
Sandstorms -
A sandstorm is when a giant cloud of sand comes out of nowhere and basically blinds you (with lag!). It will deal damage as well, and last about a Minecraft day.
Map Generation:
Quicksand -
Quicksand is basically soul sand that gets progressively stronger the longer you stay in it. You can break it like normal, but each time you move, it makes it take a little longer. If you get all the way sucked in, you die.
Deadwood -
This is just a small cluster of logs. You find these scattered amongst the desert. This means no trees. Desert life is hard.
Pyramids -
Pyramids are basically dungeons generated in the desert. It just has winding caverns that lead to different loot rooms, filled with mummies/spirits. To get to the top, you have to defeat the Pharaoh Zombie and his army. Once you do reach the top, you get considerable loot - probably diamonds.
RAINFOREST:
Mobs:
Camo-Creeper -
This is a normal creeper with a new texture. They can climb trees.
Tarantula -
These spiders are green/brown, and are stronger/larger than the normal ones. They can also make webs, which other mobs can use as ladders.
Tribesmen -
This is a short crazy guy that will charge at you and try to kill you. They drop stone tools or bows/arrows. They will follow the tribe shaman.
Undead Tribesmen -
Everything the Tribsemen are, just stronger.
Tribe Shaman -
This is a shorter, crazier guy that will order his men to attack you. He will replenish his troops with undead Tribesmen, meaning, as long as he is alive, you have to face twice as many soldiers. They drop golden apples.
Events:
TIMMMMBER -
Occasionally, a tribe of natives will get pissed off at you and cut down your tree. If a wood block is removed this way, your tree falls and all the blocks are spread around.
Sacrifical Cerimony -
This is an event where tribesmen capture an animal and put it on an altar and kill it. After this, there will be lots of rain, which creates mud.
Vines - These will generate on trees, and will grow by spreading across the ground. They are basically ladders. You can break them to get vine seeds and the vine. Vine farms!
Huge Trees - These trees will be about 20 blocks tall.
Canopy - The bottom of the forum will be pretty much dark.
Lakes - There will be several mid-large lakes under the canopy.
Still updating? K. I really like this idea. Especially the pyarmids (a little more than sand as far as the eye can see yay!) For the tundra I suggest igloos and natives. SNOW CREEPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *squeak*
oh and i forgot. DIAMONDS MAN DIAMONDS MAN!
