Erm... the title is really poorly written, seeing as lots of people will think you mean redstone dust xD
But what you're saying is that we should have a block that works like redstone dust, but requires no block to be placed on?
If so, I support this :biggrin.gif:
Edit: Agh, I spelled 'you're' wrong. I hate making typo's >.>

sorry, at work and tired. but that is what I mean.
Hmm... three redstone dust in a line makes 2 wire?

<Pluecherry777>: I still think its funny that in 5 months, a group of modders made a mod thats actually better than a game thats been around for 2 years...
How about redstone + water = redstone clay? Or just retcon redstone to a clay-like material that can be placed on walls. Redstone blocks could be used if 1x1 space was absolutely necessary or for storing redstone.

I wouldn't make it a solid block; More like an empty-air block that has a red line down the middle. Sorta like...

It'd be permeable to everything, and if sand/gravel/water/lava fell on it, it'd break.

Do you mean a method of easy vertical transmission? if so I'm for it.
But if you are talking about a mere suspended wire still going horizontal ill just say mehh.
It would do the same thing that dust/track does currently, attaching to a piece placed beside it. The diagram I made was simply to show the block dimensions as I see them, nothing more.

would work the same as the current redstone wire that requires blocks to use.

Sounds reasonable. To be honest, I don't care if this is implemented. I never use redstone anyways.
Ok, I know what you're saying, but try to reoword it, maybe add some pics or something.
