Yup, although Wolves are not implemented yet and I am basing my suggestion completely on a youtube video like everyone else, I think it's a good suggestion that merits it's own thread, although it's the same idea as everyone elses and I don't want to add it to an already existing thread, because MY idea belongs to me and it's so good it deserves it's own thread!! NOTCH READ THIS PLZ I GIVE YOU
We should also add collars, and doghouses, dogbeds, chewtoys, playtoys, the ability to ride dogs, the ability to breed them for puppies, make them walk and bark, and when you give them a porkchop/bone/fish/anything edible they will roll over/sit/stay/sic/ and I want the limit to be 200 so I can have an army of dogs on my PvP server and kill everyone on there too1!!
Errrr...now for my real suggestion. I am not sure what dogs are going to drop, because they aren't implemented yet, but if anything, you should be able to get Dog meat when you kill a tamed Dog mob. Since Dogs take more effort to train than pigs do, the Dog Meat should heal more hearts than regular uncooked pork, and cooked Dog Meat should heal more hearts than the Cooked Pork does.
For wolves you find in the wild, rather than having to tame every wolf you see, we should have the option to kill them for drops. They should drop wolf pelts when you kill them, and they can be made into a Pelt block, which is similar to the Wool block, except it has a thicker texture and looks more shimmery and sleek. You can't dye it with colors other than the Gray/Black/White dyes, and you can use them for a building block to make nice additions to your log cabins or whatever else. You can use spare wolf pelts similar to leather, to make more appealing looking Leather Armor (since we do not need a new armor tier for it if it's generally similar in acquisition).
It also can be used as a decorative rug for floors.
Also, yay, 1337th post, I am now a Pathetic Meme. ^^
I figure that if temperature is added, these would be incredibly useful. People who live in snow biomes would want furs and pelts to keep warm.
Just imagine: All kinds of biome specific mobs and items, only obtainable in those areas. That would add some epic economy and trading to the game, if combined with larger biomes.
I support. Let the first step to a better in game economy begin!
I think they should drop somthing because players will just go tame every wolf they find so they should drop a valuable item so to give the player a choice of taming it or getting the rare drop.

But then you think, wolves are passive mobs, and wont attack you.

Neither do Cows, Chickens, Pigs or Sheep.
Forget I said that. What I meant was "Jeb, and the other guys working on minecraft think that wolves already have to many benefits. Plus, they don't want people killing their beloved wolfies to get some fur"
Anyways, I'm hoping wolves are Neutral/Aggressive (Maybe Like Spiders) (They attack when attacked) Unless tamed (?) or they could always stay Neutral and just follow your command
They could drop Wolf Pelts, Used to make wolf like Armour
(If we could get wolf teeth into the mix, that would be a sweet helmet)
Have a similar idea for something like this
When tamed you would not be able to get the pelt (?) or you could, but that doesn't matter very much
Wolf Pelt could be used to make a Pelt Block, Which is like a furry Wool Block, that resembles the wolf's colour
Wolf Pelt could be used to make some sort of place-able painting/rug like block (It would be able to be placed on the floor and walls)
Wolves are supposed to be rare, so people wouldn't be killing them for their drops if they want a companion (I think in the video Jeb messed with the spawning so they were common)
Is that about it?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
These guys make awesome art for Mods (Items, New Blocks and Mobs)

Retired StaffThey should also be used to make rugs. Congratulations on being one of the forums ELITEs.
