Hi! I appreciate your hard workes on minecraft I just had an idea in case Minecraft developers are struggling for new ideas.
What about Minecraft potions and sorcery update 1.18
We already have a bit of magic in minecraft so what about a little bit more by the way I don't want the magics to be too overpowered because that would make Minecraft lame by this update I want something like witch upgrade like they will use more powers and potions and you can craft more potions for example anti poison potion or a friend of hostile mobs potions... THANKS FOR READING

1. I don't really see a concept of stronger witch in complete vacuum. It needs to have a purpose.
2. Honey acts as anti-poison, milk acts as all-effect clearer. If anything, I would opt for other things, like chocolate removing weakness and slow.
3. Hostile mob neutralizing potion would be too overpowered in structures like nether fortresses, and redundant in areas like overworld plains at night.
The former because the mobs are very important in balancing those locations out, and the latter because player with access to potions can already just mow mobs with little to no effort using tactics like enchanted crossbow burst fire or recklessly aggressive sword-slashing when wearing armor.
4. The update would need more than that couple of assets, and honestly, I personally would rather see more mobs and weapons appear on their own, and just have slow, but steady growth of enchantments, mobs and potions, either a small bunch every few updates or one by one, related to other topics, like new structures that would need something or somebody to defend it, some weapon to assault it with, and something new harvestable from said area.

Buildings - square, not round
Materials - from rubble mound
Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out
the 1.18 update could be a boss dimension where all mobs are like 3 times stronger than in the overworld, there are large structures with bosses stronger than the ender dragon, but the loot you can get is like 1.5 times better than netherite. To get in the boss dimension you need an ender dragon egg. So who actually read to the end of this comment?
Minecraft is a sandbox game, combat is just only one aspect of it,
the main aspects of Minecraft are mining (destroying) and crafting (building)
I'd like to see update that gives player much more freedom in shaping not only the world, but also game itself, like some interface to create datapacks.

Maybe they should add more weapons and tools. I have heard that Minecraft developers are planning on 1.18 to be an update that focuses on adding more weapons and tools. Essentially a "Battle Update".
People are also saying that they might do an "End Update". Basically adding more blocks and possibly ores to the End.

1. Mojang is extremely unlikely to add new dimensions. Let's firstly improve our End, it's collecting dust in disrepair.
2. Better stuff than Netherite? Dude, they are meant to be the best. Diamonds have been the top for an entire decade before netherite succeeded it, and even then it was met with resistance from community. And it would be 10x bigger if it wasn't greased with the fact that netherite is just an upgrade for pre-existing diamond gear.

1. End update? Oh yeah. I don't have a slightest compulsion to stay on that desolate asteroid belt at the moment.
2. Battle update? Sure, but rather than adding a ton of new gear I'd rather revamp what we have now.
One of my concepts are stronger weapon affinities towards specific targets, beyond Bane of Arthropods or Smite, with sword keeping a position as "general purpose" weapon.
From new things I'd like to see bucklers as more mobile but less protective alternatives to our current scutum and some form of craftable spears. They are really classic weapons that were used before we invented wheel until middle of WW1 in form of bayonets (they have been reduced more or less to parade decorations by automatic firearms)

I agree, also in bedrock edition it would be nice of they enhanced the sandbox aspect of it
so if people wanted to make their custom worlds, whether they wanted to nerf things for the sake of challenge, or do the opposite and make resources ridiculously easy to gain, it is their choice.
but custom worlds should be supported, and I'd also be in favour of them adding in more ways to customize the game.
For example, a way to select textures for each block from multiple texture packs
so you can load a custom texture pack.
and another thing bedrock edition is missing is achievements per world,
Java has those, but bedrock edition only has one set of achievements that apply to all survival worlds, so there's never truly a way to start over from scratch which kinda sucks.
also bedrock edition only has Old and Infinite World types,
it does not have superflats, amplified or buffet world types in combination with those.
even worse is that the so called old world types don't even resemble true Xbox 360 worlds,
their biome generation looks nothing like they did on the Xbox 360, Xbox 360 would generate different biomes and were varied,
but on "Old" world type, you'd often find yourself with only one biome.
Having legacy console world types on Java edition could interest some players too imo.

I've also thought of spears as an idea to be used for hunting primarily and able to kill animals in one strike and be very cheap to craft, using only wood.
They could also be used for Olympic competitions in Minecraft, they could serve the purpose as the javelin, and players could compete for how far they can throw their spears and with accuracy.
the hypothesized battle update others thought about could introduce the javelin, but there are so many other weapons that could be introduced.
A variation of the spear could be craftable but be used for jousting, the lance could have a feature other weapons don't, having the most knockback of any weapon, exceeding the knockback power of swords, especially if used while riding a horse. This could be a huge advantage in PVP, the lance could also have the longer reach, making it the superior weapon to use while riding a horse, although it could be made slower than other weapons meaning players would need precise timing to make proper use of the weapon.

Pretty vague, but I like the idea.

welp, 1.18 is just part 2 of 1.17. guess we should talk about what can be added for 1.19.
