Sea Cliff Biome with seagulls that will sometimes sit in the water or dive for fish and on occasion if they see you with an item in hand may swoop down and grab/steal it from you. They will also nest and lay eggs.
Beach biome, along the coasts beaches and rockpools will spawn, little critters like the crab may give you a nasty pinch if you get to close. Dig in certain areas and you may just be lucky enough to find a chest full of hidden treasures, I wonder what they could be? Why not bathe on the new sun mats which you can dye any colour or sip a smoothie made with sweet berry's or banana from the new palm tree. Ice-cream and various flavours because who does not like ice-cream? Ability to make custom built ships movable.
Here be dragons update... Ender dragon can now fly normally in the over world and a new cavern has come to Minecraft with a tricky labyrinth leading to a giant room of gold, Attack the dragon or steal the gold and you might just find yourself on the wrong side of its fire breath, Red dragon - normal flames, Blue dragon - Soul flames, Ender Dragon - End Flames. Give the dragon some gold and it might just let you control it, you can also add a chest either side of the dragon for extra storage or command it to use fire breath in the air.
Crystals can be converted into jewellery helping to increase your healing or damage.
Sea Cliff Biome with seagulls that will sometimes sit in the water or dive for fish and on occasion if they see you with an item in hand may swoop down and grab/steal it from you. Seagulls seam pretty annoying. Are there any benefits you get from them? They will also nest and lay eggs. What are the mechanics behind seagull nests and eggs.
Beach biome, along the coasts beaches and rockpools will spawn, A new rockpool mini biome seems interesting. little critters like the crab may give you a nasty pinch if you get to close. Dig in certain areas and you may just be lucky enough to find a chest full of hidden treasures, I wonder what they could be? Why not bathe on the new sun mats which you can dye any colour or sip a smoothie made with sweet berry's or banana from the new palm tree. Palm trees are already being added to the game so it would be good if they also had a food source on them. I also like the addition of making them spawn on beaches. Ice-cream and various flavours because who does not like ice-cream? Ice cream seems pretty useless. Ability to make custom built ships movable. The ship feature is going to need way more detail. How do they work? How do you build one? Etc...
Here be dragons update... Ender dragon can now fly normally in the over world Ender dragon is the End's boss, it shouldn't be in the Overworld at all. and a new cavern has come to Minecraft with a tricky labyrinth leading to a giant room of gold, Has potential to be good, but there will need to be things or mechanics in place which stop people from just breaking through. Attack the dragon or steal the gold and you might just find yourself on the wrong side of its fire breath, Red dragon - normal flames, Blue dragon - Soul flames, Ender Dragon - End Flames. Give the dragon some gold and it might just let you control it, No. you can also add a chest either side of the dragon for extra storage or command it to use fire breath in the air.
Crystals can be converted into jewellery helping to increase your healing or damage. Wearable perks like this could be interesting, but needs more detail.

This post has quite the potential, but some of these features seem pretty useless or not fitting. I liked the post, and I'm always open for new biomes.

Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.
1. Controllable dragon is broken concept. Even mechanical killers like tanks or mechs wouldn't be able match those, due to heavy maintenance and heavy terrain restrictions;
2. End dragon is strictly related to the End;
3. Subterranean areas favor small entities, it's feasible to steal the gold by digging around large tunnel and poking out from holes for short time;
4. Crossbows - poke out, fire a barrage, take cover, reload, repeat till target is dead. That tactic is much more feasible underground, and against single, big targets;
5. Sun mats overlap with carpets, and Minecraft is not about lying without doing anything;
6. There are other kinds of foods that can do what ice cream does, and its most outstanding trait, low temperature, is not applicable to Minecraft without large overhaul or obnoxiousness. Minecraft doesn't know tastes or smells either. Let's find something more utilitarian from foods;
7. Sweet berry could see more uses, but Cooked Meat Supremacy is not going to let it compete. So, alchemical compound or animal food;
8. Banana doesn't seem to serve much purpose. Coconut would be better as a palm drop, at least it is somewhat dangerous/might have useful shells; and is not yet another mundane fruit;
9. Treasure chests are a thing already;
10. Crabs might be useful for shells they could drop, though they would probably be difficult to model. Mind that Minecraft doesn't know physical pain;
11. Seagulls are a going to be something hated, it is neither a challenge to fight nor something useful;

Dwarf gamer found:
Buildings - square, not round
Materials - from rubble mound
Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out
10. Crabs might be useful for shells they could drop, though they would probably be difficult to model. Mind that Minecraft doesn't know physical pain;
There is fall damage, damage from arrows, damage from mobs and damage from touching cacti / sweetberry bushes.
There is a lot of of physical pain.
The crab could attack the player if he comes to close, without having hostile pathfinding.

For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q

Damage is not pain.
No matter how high you are on heroine, probably the strongest opiate known to kill nearly any pain, jumping from 20th floor will leave a puddle of gore out of you, and ignoring your arm being chopped off or having 10 arrows sticking in your guts will inevitably lead to bleeding to death.

I miss understood. That's a good point. A crab can't kill you in real life.
I don't know if its possible to run fast enough into cacti or thorn bushes.
If however someone would be smart enough to actually do so, the damage would be worse then a crab pinch.
Anyway if crabs where added they should pinch the player imo. They defend themself in real life, even against humans.
This is sort of a realism struggle. I wouldn't like them to be added as completly passive with drops or just for atmospheric.
Also i wouldn't just let them respawn like regular passive mobs, instead let them lay eggs like turtles.
That way the player can clean his holiday paradise from nasty critters, breed them for pools / aquariums or abuse those eggs for mobfarms.
I'm okay with turtle eggs beeing abused by the way.
Edit: Fishing crabs would also be cool! But not as dead meat. More like a little suprise attack.
That would make fishing less boring, if the crab pinches.

Perhaps crabs could have a unique way of dealing damage. Instead of deliberately coming after you, or even being neutral for that matter, if you touch a crab it pinches you. Maybe it could also face you and like hold up its claws if you do damage to it, as a sort of warning to not go near.

I'd like to see some jewellery in minecraft but i wouldn't touch defence or offence.
This could work as cosmetic, like player heads.
