a thought popped into my head after i took a break from 16+ hour a day of WoW and thought of a texture pack... then i thought, what if Minecraft used something like icons for WoW? (http://www.wowwiki.com/WoWWiki:WoW_Icons/Icon_List) there could be so many more weapons and armor types, and with the name thing when you hover over an item, it could maybe display Stats, like +1 armor +2 Attack +1/2 hearts, nothing fancy like Strength or Stamina.
I also had another idea swirling around in my head for a long while, what if when you crafted, instead of placing blocks in the 2x2 or 3x3 patterns for certain items, which in theory limits what you can do because each pattern must be different, there could be something like a dropdown menu, when creating an item... like (just thinking off the top of my head) the chest design, what if someone wanted lets say, a lockbox for smaller items, or diamond, that was smaller than a chest and held fewer items... the 2x2 wood design wouldnt work, its used for the Workbench... so lets say that IF the dropdown menu was implemented (which im not saying it will be) it could change the item you take out, from being a Bench, to a lock box... and by clicking the drop down you can select it, or many other items
Or, have something like the WoW proffesions menu (yeah, another WoW reference) http://enhancementshaman.files.wordpres ... forged.jpg ... You could open up your Crafting menu, and look around for lets say... a Nifty Iron sword, and you could be like... okay, so i need 2 iron bars, a stick, and 1 plank of wood (for the pommel, and the hand gaurd) ... so then you could venture off to the mines, or dungeon, or wherever in your Minecraft world that you get ore :biggrin.gif: ... and once you have enough craft it...
Anyways, thats my speil, i think it would open up minecrafts crafting "ability" to a whole new level... because minecraft is half Crafting :smile.gif:

The thing that disturbs me is that that means you get 8- hours a day of sleep. And don't you have school, a job, etc. But other than that, this sounds okay, but there are obscenely large amounts of crafting combos.
Minecraft doesn't need that many different things dumped into it unless they all do something different. I had to close the tab because something freaked out on that page, but a lot of it was links to images I believe. Yeah, since WarCraft is a larger game made for classes and combat, and Minecraft is a sandbox game with no such classes and is geared towards building, there is not much worth carrying over from there to put on here.
Although the stat idea would be nice, most things all do the same damage other than tools, swords and bows.
I know, but im just saying, this could open doors for all the modders, and Notch and Mojang too :smile.gif:

It's spring break... lolz... only reason i've been playing so much
Think there's any way to improve my idea? because you say it's okay... that implies it could be better

I agree with you, but like i said, it could add more things for modding/development, but it could maybe add more depth? ...like lets say you've found a dungeon, or a cave full of zombies, you could craft weapons with bonuses to them to help your chances... instead of having to find Diamonds? ... in multi-player, like with blueXephos's videos, they get into a huge roleplaying story.. some of the "NPC"s could have special names for their weapons or something like, Iron sword of Pig Slaying? or something along those lines

Just making sure you weren't one of those 30 year old guys, who lives in their mom's basement, with no life. Understandable, right?
On topic: There is also the possibility that they will making separate crafting stations, for things like armor. But a scroll down menu does sound good, but if it comes to the point were they have repeat crafting recipes, they will probably add a different way to make them.

Hahaha, quite the opposite, and very understandable.
Sounds good. Opinion on the WoW proffesion crafting style? just wondering, i think it could open up more options.

Truthfully I've never played it (world of warcraft).

Mine-craft is a simple game that takes place around the middle ages with a horror theme added with it (hence the hostile mobs being horror themed) and a slight hint of fantasy.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.
