The whole concept is simple.
Take a bucket of water and use it on a block of wooden planks.
The water is used up and the planks, along with any placed planks nearby are turned a mildly darker tinge and become fireproof.
1. This allows a bit more freedom with house, fort, etc designs.
2. This also hinders griefers.
3. In a war based server you can soak walls of houses and such to prevent enemys from burning them down.
4. (Nath99) Soaked wood would be weaker then normal wood. Allowing it to be broken faster.
5. You can collect soaked objects and place them in the crafting table to dry them.
6. You can place 4 soaked objects like so. For bulk drying.
Only it's not, because sometimes I like to use water alongside planks, and prefer to not have it soaked into the wood. In any case, wood wouldn't stay wet forever, so if you used this you'd have to regularly re-moisten your floor or lose that open fireplace.
No what I mean is that you directly use the water ON the planks. like using on something. Having water next to the planks won't do anything.
If you just want to be able to place fireproof planks then just stack wooden half blocks. They are fireproof.

Support the Allocator! Find my inventions such as my pressure plate removal detector on the About Me page of my profile.
I'm still looking for more feedback on my configurable Redstone Gate mod. All gates and common circuits (such as e.g. clocks, edge detectors, latches and Flip-Flops) in a single block.
This is a neat idea, It would be use full if you could just add a bucket of water with wood planks so you could get this however (you will get your bucket back with out water). I know that having my crafting idea is a dumb one, but it would be useful. I like the idea though!

Prevent Fire Griefers?
Make wood darker?
All in one Suggestion?

Other then that, ok
Oh, would other materials be able to be "Soaked"? like wool and etc.
