I think a Minecraft Disaster Update would be a very cool thing to have. There hasn't been a single game that includes earthquakes, Or floods, Or Volcanoes and Minecraft seems to be the perfect game to introduce this.
I'm not big on this either, even when I used mods that did it, it was impressive but not something survival related I want to experience as you just have no chance of surviving unless you have good armour/can fly or go to another dimension and ignore it but it destroys so much there is no point in playing the game. It's impressive spectacle in game that it, you might as well give up on playing once a Tornado or Earthquake happens and also things that 100% mimic real life are not always that fun in games, games having quirky aspects to them makes them more fun.

Ever heard of Cities: Skylines? It includes those and more.
Anyway, no. Natural disasters that destroy your world don't add challenge, only frustration. Stuff that's "Cool to have" may not be fun to play.

Yeah I don't want things that just happen and destroy my world beyond my control.

Imagine spending years creating a world, just to have all of your work wiped away by some randomly generated gimmick.
Now, maybe if it were an option, sure. But, if not a lot of players care to use it, it should be left to mods.
