Sarcasm aside, I think a flying pig would be a great addition to the game, since I actually thought beta WOULD contain flying pigs.
Their wing span should be about 0.8 meters per wing on each side, and they should flop like chicken wings do.
With one exception... THEY CAN FLY! The pigs fly to get to random places. Be it atop of a tree or a moutain.
They do not take any fall damage. You could possibly tame them by feeding them seeds. Once you feed them, they won't despawn and you could put a saddle on them and fly away off into the sunset.
But, don't expect to find this wonder of nature any time soon. They spawn at cloud level and above and spawn an 8th of the fequency as chickens.
So, that's it for now. Any feedback?

For people who keep commenting about the Aether let me clear somethings up about this... the Aether is s separate area from the Overworld... just like the Nether it is unaccesable via any means besides a portal.

You forget: Ghasts can appear in the overworld if there is enough room around a nether portal. I assume the same thing would happen for flying pigs if they are added.

We cant control pigs, we cant control flying pigs. They are not a good way to add flying mounts because of that. Gliders should be minecrafts only way to 'fly'
I would prefer no flying mounts, but flying machines instead. They require less saddles and feeding and taming than just building a hot air balloon, glider or ornithopter.
Although the humor is kind of dry beyond the aged pun.

While yes... Ghasts CAN appear in the overworld... they require enough room, and I personally have never had that happen to me, and while you also stated that pigs are not controllable, so flying pigs won't be either, I don't see why pigs won't soon be controllable if you can ride them?

Retired StaffI disagree, at least pigs exist. True wings would be unrealistic, but they would be more realistic than a dragon. Not that I care.
