Squids are a great addition to the game, the first aquatic creature, sadly they become quiet a pain while trying to do -anything- with water, from the most simplistic to the more advanced creations.
So I would love it if we had the ability to turn off "Friendly" monsters/animals as well, or better yet you can take the idea from Mo' creatures and let us chose which monsters and animals we want and which we don't.
Erm, no offence but just stab them in the jaws? If you kill them, they can't bug you ;3 But quite honestly, they should despawn. I left one down in a hole when i started my world, and when i've moved out, explored my world and made it 40mb, that squid is STILL there.
Killing them is a short term solution to a longterm problem and still doesn't do much.
What do they do that's so annoying? They have no further actions than those of a marauding farm animal. All they can do is push you. Kill them and move on, they probably won't spawn in the same place until quite a while afterwards, if at all. Also, once the maximum number of squids has spawned, merely killing them for a respawn into a "collection" tank takes little effort. All it really takes is time, which shouldn't be much of a problem if you're already dedicated to a large project, which takes time anyway. Just accept it as part of the process, and, after some preliminary cleanup, your work area is squid-free permanently.

If you're new here, you aren't allowed to have an opinion. Or get on mah level. 'K? 'K.

The point is its not just extra time but also hassle. Why should I -have- to do all that just to make something simple work? Besides if you're constantly using water in your projects, weither for decoration or function, it gets annoying. Like I said, why do I have to build a squid tank and have to kill them all just so I can have squid-free water?
Besides, even if its a "Simple" fix, that doesn't mean my suggestion isn't a valid one, its a great idea and should at -least- be considered. Don't you think?
