I've been playing MC for a couple of months now, but just now finally read up about Herobrine. I read somewhere that Notch was amused by the idea and I thought it would be pretty BA if there was a single player mode dedicated to the H man.
In the pic that most have read, the player mentions encountering things like 'dead trees' (no leaves) and perfect sand pyramids. I think Herobrine could be taken to a much larger scale. I know it'll never happen, but the more I think about it, the more I get into it, lol.
Here's what I thought of so far:
-Stares at you from a distance and rounds a corner as you close in and poofs once out of line of sight.
-Leaves a rose on your doorstep for several days in a row then one time have a TON of roses surrounding your whole house.
-Leaving little 'blair witch' dolls around in random places.
-Once in a blue moon have an arrow hit you out of nowhere in an open area during the day.
-Leave signs demanding things and both the sign as well as the demand gone later.
-If sign is moved or demand not met then have a pit dug near your front door where Herobrine looks down on you from above with a lava bucket in hand.
-Signs with creepy rhymes left on them.
-2x2 Tunnels going from under your house to a nearby ave system.
-Small hut here or there near your house to indicate Hero's presence.
-Torches randomly removed from your house, tunnels, fields and maybe replaced with a rose.
-The sounds of animals being killed at night when you're in your house.
-Random sound of footsteps.
-Once in a while, you hear a creeper hiss and turn around to find Herobrine -RIGHT- behind you. When you jump back, you see he has a sword in hand. He stares for a second, turns, and walks away, poofing around a corner.
-Your mine occansionally griefed.
-Things get more dangerous as the game goes on.
-Traps left out randomly, such as land mines, cactus pits, dispencer traps, etc.
-Suddenly a hole opens up in the ground below you, you fall in, and something starts to attack in the dark! Once you shed some sort of light, the attacker disappears.
You get the idea by now :tongue.gif:
Idea, thoughts, opinions, etc, etc? Would love to hear them :biggrin.gif:
Please acquaint yourself with the stickied threads, particularly the ones that say "READ BEFORE POSTING" and the list of already-suggested things.
What's more, there are a number of rumors of what Notch supposedly has or has not said. I advise you to check each rumor with the thread listing things Notch has actually said, as well as his Twitter and the development blog.
The Herobrine hoax has been beaten to death by countless threads such as this, and frankly most of us are sick of seeing them, so please do not continue to perpetuate this.
Much more in depth than the OTHER suggestions of the same type.
Still, Im a little miffed. There needs to be a point to this gametype. Maybe to break the herobrine curse?
