For some reason, I like this idea. It's completely pointless, but it could be fun, and it could perhaps give another use for paper. For instance, it could be crafted like a chest, but with paper instead of planks, and it would drop as a wrapped-present block that you can put items into. It should also be stack-able so you can have piles of presents.
Once it has items in it, it can't be opened again without breaking or 'unwrapping' it, at which time it is destroyed and the items burst out with a cloud of confetti. It could be a fun way to give a friend some items.
This could also be a perfect idea for a Christmas update. Imagine growing a tree and putting a pile of presents under it for people to come tear into. For people who use the cuboid mobs to give block protection to players in multiplayer servers, this could be used as a block that can still be broken in a region that is protected otherwise so that you can give people presents without getting rid of the block protection.

I'm almost 100% positive that this have been suggested before but i'll suggest it again anyways

Thanks for paraphrasing the OP but I think we all got that part...

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, but I was repeating what was already said and then proceeding to elaborate on it so that it was all in one post rather than people searching for ideas between multiple posts.
