Add Tree Roots to Minecraft. I have a couple of purposes in mind that the roots would be used for. You would be able to smelt the roots in a furnace, to, in turn, get some dirty sticks. Now, these dirty sticks would not be able to do anything, but if you threw them in water, they would become normal sticks. Another purpose for the block itself would be that it can also be a smelting tool. An inefficient one, but, still, would work. You would also need at least a Stone Pickaxe to get the Root Block.
So if I have this correct, you want to make a new block that requires a stone pickaxe to get, costs fuel to turn into an item that you must then throw into water in order to get a Stick, which you can already get from the tree itself. Additionally, you can use it as a fuel that is worse than already existing fuels, including logs (which again, you can get from the tree itself)?
... Why?

I don’t mind the idea of tree roots, but just cut out the middleman and have them just drop sticks when broken.
