Trying to compress complicated redstone systems into a small space can be difficult simply because the redstone tries to connect to everything near it.
To help resolve this problem, I suggest making redstone wires which only connect in the direction you placed them, for example:
suppose you have two redstone wires that need to run next to each other but also need to stay separated
normally you would have to place one line above the other or move them farther apart, taking up more space and possibly ruining your system.
I suggest that it be made so redstone will form a line when placed normally and only make corners or connect to adjacent blocks under certain conditions.
It would make either a vertical or horizontal line depending on how you placed it (like placing signs).
Player: facing right or left
Redstone:
Player: facing forwards or backwards
Redstone:
For example, imagine trying to run the two lines next to eachother -
With the new system, you could easily run both lines as they are without having them interfere with eachother -
Corners would be made when a vertical line ran into a horizontal line (or the other way around) -
And so would intersections -

I would like to hear any thoughts or ideas you have to improve this, as well as any problems you think this would run into.
Also, as I have no idea how to code this, I would greatly appreciate if someone would make this as a mod.
Redstone needs to be vertically placeable, and not cross with other wires beside it...Maybe craft the dust with wool or something, make an insulated wire.

Corners and intersections are always good.
