We already have different types of cats, but what about dogs? They aren’t customizable at all other than collar colors. We could see pugs, golden retrievers, etc. It’s really cool to have different types of cats, but dogs were left out of that. Please add on if you think the idea could be better.
This is a nice idea and works considering that there are already a handful of cat variations all clearly based off real breeds.
However, perhaps with the Wolf and its transition into the dog, this is more dependent on the biome at which it is tamed. This is based on real dog breeds all being adapted for the enviroments in which they were tamed and brought up in.
Perhaps if the Wolf is within the boundaries of a Snowy Biome, upon taming it will turn into a Husky. From there the Husky could be one of a few variations, such as black, grey, red or white.
To finish, I also have two other ideas for biome-dependent breeds, these being:
• The German Shepherd for the Dark Forest, with its own respective variations of black, brown and white. Its nature as a guard dog could translate into barking when hostile mobs are nearby.
• The Border Collie for biomes such as the Flower Forest, Forest, Plains and Sunflower Plains. These could be black, blue merle or brown. It could be useful for bringing sheep together through herding them, much like its real life counterpart.
I think it would make sense to add dogs who can spawn in with different color patterns like the horses. The tamed wolf isnt really a dog and they are always white arent they? A gray and tan timber wolf added would atleast add some variety to some possible tamed wolves you could have.
