After seeing bees in the new snapshot, I started to wonder if we will be getting an update to farming. This is my concept for a new Farming Update (I don’t know if this is a thing already or if this is 1.15)
New Crops
Tomatoes - Tomato plants work work similar to cocoa beans. The Shoot Of The tomato will sprout first, then cocoa bean size tomatoes starting out green and small, to yellow and medium size, then Red and full size. At Red and full size, the plant will drop 1-3 tomatoes that would will 2 hunger. There is also a chance of a tomato plant giving a Rotten Tomato, working the same as the poisonous potato. Tomato seeds can be gathered from crafting them from a tomato or from sunken ships.
Corn - Maize can grow to the size of sunflowers and would be the second fastest growing crop, only beaten by bamboo. Maize would also work like sweet berries by damaging a mob near it with its leaves. When harvested, you would only get one and would fill up 5 hunger, but you could also put corn in the furnace and get Cooked Corn, which would fill 8 hunger. After eating an uncooked Corn, the corn would become a Corn Cob, which could be crafted into Kernels to plant Maize. You could also get Maize from villages.
Peanuts - Peanut plants would grow and the wild and exclusive to the plains biome, similar to how wild berries are exclusive to the taiga biome. When peanuts are ready to harvest, the plant will drop from 3-10 peanuts, which can fill 2 hunger each. Peanuts can also be roasted on a campfire to get Roasted Peanuts, which fill 4 hunger. Unroasted peanuts can be planted for more Peanut plants.
Pests And Pollinators
Squirrels - Squirrels would be a passive mob that. live in plains biomes and steal Peanut plants. Squirrels would have 3 health points. When chased, squirrels will run and hide in tree leaves. Squirrels can breed with peanuts.
Crows - Crows would be a new flying passive mob that would steal Maize. Crows would have 4 Health Points. Snow Golems or wearing a Carved Pumkin would scare them away. In villages, when crows are nearby, Farmer Villagers would be seen wearing a carved pumpkin to scare the crows. Crows can not breed.
Black bears - Black bears would be a neutral mob, more common in forests, but can be found in the plains biome. Black bears would have 30 health points. Black bears would attack Bee Nests and Beehives and have the ability to destroy entire thing. Black bears can Breed with honeycombs.
Hummingbirds - Hummingbirds would also be a new flying passive mob that would be beneficial to crops. Hummingbirds would have 2 Health Points. Similar to bees, Hummingbirds would be a natural bone meal for crops, preferring red crops like beetroot and tomato.
Hoe Enchantments
(Yes. Hoe Enchantments)
Fertilize I, II, III - Fertilize would make the dirt that you tilled make the crop on the dirt grow 2x,3x, or 4x faster.
Pesticide - The Pesticide enchantment would make mobs like Squirrels and Crows not eat the crop where the hoe tilled.
Draw I, II Draw would make Bees And Hummingbirds be more attracted to the crops where the hoe tilled.
Effects
Hero Of The Hive - This Effect would happen when you save a Bee Nest/Hive from a Black bear. Bees would not attack you unless you destroy the hive. Bees would also produced double the honey.
Blight - This Negative effect would be cause by having a poisonous potato or rotten tomato in your farm. If not removed, all potatoes will become poisonous, all tomatoes become rotten, and all other plants will refuse to grow, even with bonemeal. (This would be a reference to the Irish potato famine)
First off, applauds to your effort. It is clear you put a lot of thought into these suggestions. Overall, I like them, but I agree with jamescoolcrafter in that some of the foods might need better uses. This isn't that big a deal though. It can easily be fixed. As the farming overall, I like the added difficulty and realism to the game. It reminds me of Villages prior to 1.14. Once they were updated, an entire part of the game was discovered, always there, but never awakened to its fullest potential.
I completely agree with everything you said it would also allow a whole new player base to join to there is no complaint and I agree with everything you wrote.

Its a interesting suggestion
Your food shouldnt heal up that many hunger bars at once
What are the uses of the new foods?
Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.
This is pretty neat.^^
Though I'd rather throw rotten tomatoes at people (think eggs) for numerous reasons
(for example people singing in voice chat). The rotten tomatoes could for example
not casue any damage but obscure vision (think squids using ink though with a red
colour instead of black).
I don't mind an agricultural update for MC... I wished Mojang would add the "right click
to harvest fully grown crops" option from "Pam's Harvest Craft", since they pretty much
already added that mechanic when it comes to berry bushes... imagine not having to
punch and replant your crops.
Sorry for the tangent... Your idea is very detailed and sounds promising... maybe add
a few stats to the mobs (does your bear have the same stats as let's say a polar bear?).
Mostly Supportive ...needs a few stats for the added creatures/mobs.
We need to fix the hunger system first. There is already too much food in Minecraft, and no incentive to use any more than a few.
My suggestions: Enhancements - Throwable Fire Charges - On Phantoms and Elytra. Also check out The Minecraftian Language. This signature is not here to waste your space.
That is also kind of true... most people just tend to make stacks of steaks/baked potatoes since those are the most effective
foods that require almost zero effort.
I completely agree with everything you said it would also allow a whole new player base to join to there is no complaint and I agree with everything you wrote.
