Encounter a frozen world, where both ruin and prosperity await. A world so cold blizzards frequently ravage the land- yet the local life has adapted, creating an ecosystem from snowy sentient balls to mighty dinosaurs. Underneath the icy surface lies a second ecosystem- the cavernous aquatic realm- where many deep-sea fishes await. In the skies are the Explorers of the World- the Tundran Villagers, who have set sail with their regal airships.
Yet there is an enemy lurking within this world. Hoping to destroy everything- the good and the bad- that we have just described. It is the Gear, an evil supercomputer who desires more and more resources, more and more destruction of the natural habitat. The Tundrans have formed a resistance to oppose its machine army, but it is up to you to lead them to victory. Will you save the Frist, or fall victim to its many traps? Only time will tell…
On behalf of everyone, thank you for reading. It means a great deal to appreciate this suggestion. Feel free to critique- if you up to the paramount task.
This new dimension would allow for more ways to play the game. I like that it's not a part of the main progression, as the optional aspect of it adds to the sandbox feel of Minecraft. The mobs in this dimension are unique and fit its theme. The dimension itself is distinct enough from the Nether, End, and Overworld to feel like its own realm. The items and tools seem quite balanced and fit the steampunk/frozen theme of the dimension.
This is an amazing suggestion and I'm glad to have been a part of it.
“Konets” is the Russian word for “End”. As we reach this part of the suggestion, it has becoming increasingly clear how that word surrounds us all today. The end of this suggestion, the end of the era of the Frist, and the end of the Minecraft Forum. That’s a lot to take in.
But when you look at it, the End is never really the End. Many view the defeat of the Ender Dragon as the start of a new era for their game, where they can begin accomplishing amazing feats. The same would apply to the Frist- after the defeat of the first Overseer, as intense as it was, you will be back for more.
It’s 3:08 in the morning right now and I just spent the last five hours compiling everything we had done in one and a half years into one concise document for you all to read. And while I like to tell myself I’m never doing this again that probably isn’t the case. The First will live on, as will the Minecraft Forum.
There was an idea. To bring together a group of remarkable people. To see if they could become something more. When I started the Fourth Dimension thread with the double incorrect spelling of “collobrotive” I didn’t know what would happen, but I wanted to see if we could unite. I think we did well, and I hope this suggestion is well received but frankly if it isn’t, I’ll still know that we put a great amount of effort into it. And so with that, I feel confident to leave my mark on the Minecraft Forum. Thanks for the memories.
Well said. I completely agree with you. I will never forget the Minecraft Forum or its amazing community.

Yetis are mentioned a few times in the linked document, particularly when explaining the binary sun-based cycle, but they're not elaborated upon.
What happens if Myst Serpents are killed? No drops are specified, and judging by their role in preventing Players from progressing deeper into the ocean and either falling off the Void or finding the Bedrock (I'm not exactly sure if there's a Bedrock layer, althrough I guess there is), it can be assumed that they drop nothing; but wether do they at least drop experience or not isn't specified.
Another question about Myst Serpents is about their targeting mechanics: Do they attack on sight unconditionally, or do they only attack if the player is within the bottom 12 layers?
Similarly, Blizzards aren't elaborated upon, apart from being a generally unpleasant weather that causes the Player to freeze if exposed. It could have reasons to go outside, too.
Finally, is it possible to intentionally breed tamed Frores, or do they go into Love Mode randomly like their wild counterparts?
In general, while it's rough around the edges due to the then-impending death of the Forum, the content as presented is of great quality, clearly showing what a brainstorming group can think up as a thought experiment (Sadly, specially as I personally participated in the early stages; Mojang's lack of will to pay attention to MCF makes this kind of great suggestions become mods at best, and be quickly forgotten at worst).

The following part of the document explains that frores breed more at a certain point in the daylight cycle:
Blue-day is Frore mating season, with 40% of all Frore’s spawned babies. In addition, breeding tamed Frores and Mammoths is faster than usual.
It mentions "breeding tamed Frores" so I would assume this means you are able to breed tamed Frores. I don't know if the document specifies the item used, but I would assume it to be any meat.

They don't drop anything because you aren't supposed to go down there. You are not supposed to see the bedrock- it exists only for logisitcs, like above the nether roof.
Another question about Myst Serpents is about their targeting mechanics: Do they attack on sight unconditionally, or do they only attack if the player is within the bottom 12 layers? Have not thought about this, but I'd say they stop once you get out of their zone. That may a mistake isn't the end of the world.
Similarly, Blizzards aren't elaborated upon, apart from being a generally unpleasant weather that causes the Player to freeze if exposed. It could have reasons to go outside, too. Blizzards might be more annoying than anything. I'll have to think this over on the discord.
Mostly great. The only things I'd change are the Frist's name ("Nether" and "End" are logical and simple) and the Gear being too out of theme for both a Europa-themed dimension and Minecraft itself. I'd prefer an Aether to fill the role of a fourth dimension. Or update the Nether or End. Or both.
Personally I only accept the Aether as the pinnacle of a "fourth dimension" that can only exist. The features presented in the dimension is very messy and doesn't fit each other (in one case you have robot, in another case you have snow dinosaur). Compare that to the Aether with the majestic aerwhale and the angelic Valkyries that fit within the heaven themed dimension. I'd recommend scraping the gear and everything connected it.

Does the Aether really fit into the game?
The current two dimensions are very unique and act separate from each other. The Nether is based on the underworld and the End is based on... something. They also all serve their own main purpose- the Nether for fast travel, the End for the end dragon boss.
The Aether, on the other hand, is really just a ripoff of the Nether. Even the name isn't original, everything is an exact inverse. This might work if the only dimensions were the normal world and hell, but how does the end factor into the religious theme? Part of the reason is that the Aether was created before the End. Most of the mobs are ripoffs- flying animals or blue slimes or a ghast with a different model. And terrain gen is directly taken from Notch's skylands. And what's the main purpose of the Aether?
Don't get me wrong, I like the Aether a lot. But ultimately, it feels like a mod, not a suggestion.
Does the Aether really fit into the game?
It does for me. It could even do a better job at being a cohesive side dimension than the frist personally speaking.

And the Aether for late game players to have more content? Or we could redo the aether while still keeping the "heavenly" theme entirely and done a good job better than the frist?
The Aether, on the other hand, is really just a ripoff of the Nether. touche Even the name isn't original, everything is an exact inverse. That's a stupid claim! Are the sun god suddenly the inverse of a Wither now? This might work if the only dimensions were the normal world and hell, but how does the end factor into the religious theme?Maybe just keep the end as just another anomalous existence? Why does the existence of Aether suddenly makes the game religious? Part of the reason is that the Aether was created before the End. Most of the mobs are ripoffs- flying animals or blue slimes or a ghast with a different model. Giant flywing whales = Giant fire-shooting ghost apparently And terrain gen is directly taken from Notch's skylands. And what's the main purpose of the Aether? Could be late game or optional dimension like the frist.
Don't get me wrong, I like the Aether a lot. But ultimately, it feels like a mod, not a suggestion. That's not a good argument.
You haven't explained why the frist is better than the aether and why the aether is such a bad idea. Instead, you spouted how the Aether is "too moddy" or a "direct ripoff of the nether" without giving a detailed explanation. Also not realizing the fact that we could still redesign the Aether entirely to fit within Minecraft vanilla. We don't even have to name it Aether damn it.

The "Ghast with a different model" is likely the Zephyr.
As for his point, the Aether makes sense as an opposite of the Nether if taken as a "Hell", with the Aether being a "Heaven" of sorts. This is most obvious in how the Aether has many passive mobs, and it's possible to survive in it without requiring Overworld items at all, whereas the Nether requires importation of Overworld resources to make it possible to live in it, and even then, food and resources are scarce (Most obvious is that a Nether-only base has to farm mushrooms for food or normal crops at an incredibly slow pace, and that, short of continuously looting Nether Fortress chests, the only tool tiers available there are Wood and Gold, which are the worst ones).
Most notably, the Aether's main gimmick, apart from being an opposite of the Nether, is that it's a "new beginning", whereas the Frist's is the availability of new, unique items and providing an endgame challenge.

Although AMPPL50 did also respond to your point and I agree with most of his thoughts, I will try to answer your questions to me directly.
Put simply- I think the Frist is better than the Aether because I don't think the Aether is an original idea, and I think the Frist is an original idea. Does originality matter with a dimension. I think it does, and here's why:
I think the Aether is a byproduct of a bygone era when there was only the Overworld and the Nether. Back then, there was only a "regular world" dimension and a "hell world" dimension. It makes perfect sense for someone to say "what if we had a heaven dimension?". And had Notch added it at the time (which we know he was considering) it would have fit the game just fine.
But as soon as the End Dimension was implemented, I believe the Aether was no longer fitting with the game. This is because once we got two new dimensions we were able to understand what a dimension is in Minecraft's sense. It is a completely new world with very few items from other dimensions. It is also not tied to a biblical allusion or any "good/bad" for that matter. The Aether has overworld like grass, trees, and mobs that look a lot like pigs/sheep/cows. The Nether and End lack these similarities to the Overworld. I think if something like the Aether were to ever be implemented, it should be added in the skies of the overworld, and not as a separate dimension.
Okay, so now that we have established my logic for believing originality important to a new dimension, let's compare the Aether and Frist. And despite my arguments in my prior post, I don't really take any issue with similar mob behaviors. I think my bigger worry with the Aether is how it has grass and trees. It feels like an extension of the overworld, in my opinion. Compare that to the Frist, which although it has snow, is home to all sorts of new items. There are no trees or green grass. Instead, there are dinosaurs and steampunk robots. I think it is introducing more to the game than the Aether, expanding the theme in new directions instead of circling back to the Nether.
Ultimately, this all our opinion. I think the divide between our ideas really comes down to whether we want to see an original new dimension that expands upon the themes of the game (with the understandable risk of it ruining Minecraft's simplicity) or an agreed-upon dimension that doesn't bring much new, but at the same time does not risk ruining the game.

To be honest, one of the few things I disagree with the Aether and New Nether suggestion is the existence of grass and trees. It would really spoil the feeling of being in a different dimension and not just the Overworld's sky.
Oh wow. I remember seeing some of this back on the brainstorming thread a while back. Don't think anything I suggested survived, haha. I took a stroll through the doc, and I must say, when it comes to the environment I am (relatively) impressed. The aurora, different stars, and subglacial ocean are all cool concepts. Favorite mob so far is the serpent.
I'm not in a position to drop in critique and perhaps tag a few additional suggestions, note a few things, etc, so I'll look at doing that at a later date. I don't want to do the lame old "support" or "no support."
But I'll quickly comment on the originality thing above. The Aether could be argued to be an inverse to the Nether; a black to the other's white. However, a similar argument can be made that this is just a cold place as opposed to the Nether's heat theme. In a matter of personal preference I find the Aether to be superior in terms of fitting with the game's original intended design and character, something that has been tainted and been forgotten over the years it seems.

Figured it was time for a change.
I have ideas for new ore in the dimension: red diamond, cryomarine, frost ruby, and many more! also for animal crystal wolf and flying frost titan!
also for weapon we should have thing like the frost axe from god of war.
